When we were there last year, we tried slipping our annual passes into the fast pass machines, and it didn't spit out a ticket. We tried two machines at Indy, and we saw other people successfully use those same machines. Are we just idiots and can't slide in the card correctly, or are we not able to use fast passes? It wasn't busy last November so we didn't try again, but we are now talking about making another trip this summer and can reuse the passes.

Yes, you can definitely use Fastpass. Not sure why you would've had a problem. :confused3

Sorry to hear that the machines didn't work... Whenever that happens, find the CM and let them know. They will normally go back to the FP machines with you and try with your tickets. If they can't get it to work, they can print however many you need for you.

The image that tells you how to insert the AP is not intuitive. My guess is that you just had the card in the wrong way. I say this because I have had to help many in my party for years and some have had AP's for years :rotfl: But yes they do work!

I was thinking the same thing. You probably just put your APs in the wrong way. I'm one of those who never gets it right the first time. I look at the picture and I still end up with it facing the wrong way. lol Just keep trying your card different directions until it works!

When we got our AP's in April we tried them on all the Fast Pass machines LOL
SM and Indy wouldn't work the CM said it happens sometimes, so they would just spit some out of the machine for us, it was a pain but atleast we got out fast passes :)
The CM never said why I'd happens but we'll try them out again next week, hopefully it's not a permanent thing.

First off I feel there are 5 ways to insert an AP into a fastpass machine.
front right side
front left side
back right side
back left side
repeat choosing the above until you find the magic 5th side that does not exist until you have put the AP into the system at least 8 times.

When you have problems with an AP machine then go to a near by CM if available or to the greeter of the ride. Guest services is another place to get help. Sometimes the machine may not like you and decide that your magnetic strip is to hard to read. CMs are nice people and will help you next time. Have fun on your next trip.

I usually average 5 - 10 tries and thus give up on FP for rides.

We have APs and ALWAYS get FP for Indy, it always works for us (unless DBF's AP isn't actually scanned upon entry lol) with no problems at all.

We have AP and the only time they haven't worked when is the machine isn't working for anyone.

I love FP! Just yesterday we grabbed FP for Splash in the a.m. (about 11 ish) and when we used them later in the day the wait was posted as 30 min. It took us only about 8-9 from the time we entered until we boarded. And I think the standby line looked longer. The line was down to the end of the ramp.

We get as many FP as soon as we get there and then use them later in the day when it's more crowded. Many times we will grab a FP and then ride the ride. If it's not too busy yet by the time we exit the ride it's almost time to get another FP. :goodvibes
