I am working on planning a trip for 2007. (November 1-6 to be exact.) I know it's far in advance but we just got back about a month ago and I can't wait to start planning again!! :teeth:

I was wondering that first week in Nov. if we would be able to catch any Christmas decorations up already? :confused3

I called WDW and the person I spoke with said no. She said nothing goes up until midnight on Thanksgiving.

That seems awfully late to me. Is that right?? Not to doubt her, but it wouldn't be the first time I recieved less than accurate info from one of the cast members.

I was hoping someone who was just there or who has been there the first week of Nov. in the past could help me out.

Also when does the MVMCP usually start? Is it not until mid-November?

Thanks in advance for any info!! :)

Completely wrong info.

Many of the decorations are up right now.

Read this thread:

Not everything can go up at once, it takes time, and a lot of it.

The days of being able to put it all up in one night are years-gone-by.

There are reports of the odd wreath, etc... also some characters in Christmas attire already, but nothing major.

I did read that thread, no where does it mention the huge Christmas Trees etc... and I haven't heard anything about the resorts yet.

I was there Nov. 3 - 9 in 2004, and decorations went up at ASMo in the middle of our stay. But I don't recall seeing anything in the parks that early.

We went mid-November (12th-17th) once & the only Christmas thing we saw was lights being strung on the Backlot Tour in MGM. Nothing yet in the parks or the resorts - but then again they are very good at hiding what they need to!

Howdy! We will have a couple of days at WDW that overlap next year. AK already has it's Christmas decor out, including trees and characters in their holiday attire. The Christmas decor is being rolled out all over WDW as we speak. MVMCP starts in mid-November this year, so you know that it will be fully Christmas blinged out soon.

I think it's going to be interesting watching the transformation. We will arrive with the parks all set for Halloween and leave with them almost ready for Christmas. Maggie

We just returned today. The large Christmas tree was up on Nov 2nd at MK. On Nov 3rd the garland was strung across Main street. The gifts shops were full of the Christmas merchandise. Everyday since Nov 1st we saw more and more decorations go up. Christmas music was played throughout the Mk starting Nov 1. I was glad to catch a little of the Christmas season!

This is great info! Thanks everyone.
And thank-you for the link to that thread. I went and read it.

Funny how some people are wishing they would stay packed away a little longer and I'll be hoping they are out. :thumbsup2

Of course that's only at Disney. In my local stores it makes me nuts... :rolleyes1 :teeth:

Wow, that phone CM must not have been to WDW in about 20 years or more! Back when it was only the MK (and for a while when it was MK and Epcot since they used to not do holiday decorations at Epcot), they would indeed spend Thanksgiving night putting up the vast majority of decorations in MK, so that guests could see the amazing transformation that took place overnight. Now that there are decorations in 4 parks, a water park, 20-some resorts, etc. etc., it would be virtually impossible to do. As pointed out before, the Osborne Lights alone take a couple of months to set up and install. They have already done some previews of the Osborne Lights this year, showing the new dancing light and music effects; there was a link posted on another thread here to a video of them. So, you will see some, but not all, of the decorations in early November. The closer to Thanksgiving, the more you will find. As for MVMCP, it seems they add more dates and start a little earlier every year! This year, the first party is a week from tomorrow (11/13), so you know all the MK decorations will be up before then!

Thanks!
That's what I thought. I know about the Disney magic and all, but to decorate everything would be quite a miracle even for them!!

Like I said it's not the first time a CM has given less than up to date and accurate info. So I thought I'd check with the real experts. :thumbsup2
