We have family that recently moved to Orlando. Can they purchase tickets for us? How much of a savings is there? We are only going to 2 parks.

There is significant savings in buying a Florida Resident Pass if you're going to a lot of parks. For two, there isn't. The Season Pass is about $200, so for two parks, you'd be paying half that anyway.

In any case, the Florida passes require the presentation of a driver's licence by the adults for whom the tickets are purchased, and fingerprint ID. So no, they can't get discounted tickets for you.

You have to show a Florida Resident's ID to use a Florida pass.

I have a different response to the posters above. Recently, my aunt purchased my husband and I the 4 day Florida resident passes. She needed to show id to purchase the tickets. My husband and I did not need id when we entered the park. We did however needed to insert our fingers, for the biometrics. We were not questioned once. My aunt would never have purchased this type of ticket for us but a customer service rep from disney suggested she do so. This cast member used to work the at the gates and said they never check id for entrance only for purchase. Maybe we were just lucky. I don't know.

You got lucky, because the rules state that anytime someone enters a park requiring the finger scans for the first time, they are supposed to check ID, then set the finger scan.

If the finger scan malfunctions later in the year, the CM is supposed to check ID.

If you enter a park, exit and then enter a park within an hour, then the CM is supposed to check ID. (This happens quite frequently when folks on the monorail resorts walk through Epcot to get to the Studios, or when folks at the Epcot resorts walk through Epcot to get to the MK).

So although you may have gotten in the first time, if your finger scan ever messes up and you get a CM that sticks with the policies, your cheap pass may be confiscated.

I am a Florida resident and last year I purchased the 4 day pass for myself, wife and DS online. When I exchanged them at MK the ticket booth CM wanted both my wife and I had to show our Florida DLs before they would exchange them.
