I saw a tattoo, it was on a Disney tattoo site.

It said -
smile though your heart is aching

That's not part of the lyrics from Cinderella.

Does anyone know if this line is actually from a Disney movie?

Thanks!

I don't know if it's a Disney theme or not. Charlie Chaplin made it famous I believe. In the movie Modern Times

I think Jerry Lewis also sang it at times during his Muscular Dystropy Telethons

There were no lyrics in Charlie Chaplin's version - just the music. Nat King Cole was actually the first person to sing the song (lyrics by Turner and Parsons).

Smile though your heart is breaking
Smile even though it's aching
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

[instrumental interlude]

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

LOVE THIS SONG

It's also sung by Lyle Lovett in the movie Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock
