AND...the name on the reservation changes?

I am going on the Disney Cruise from April 18-22. My sister and her family will be in a two bedroom at OKW for the same dates. Then, when I get off the ship with my family, we are going to WDW and moving into a GV with my sister and her family for 3 days. The two bedroom is in my sister's name, and she will probably need to have groceries moved, do they do that? Also, the GV is in my name...do I need to check in before she can request her things be moved?

Any insight on what happens in a situation like this?

I believe that before they will let your sister into the GV, her name will have to be on the reservation also. I'd call MS and let them know the story.Perhaps there is a way that can note that in their system.

As Disney Doll suggested, have your sister added to the resrevation for the GV- that way she can check into that room befor eyou arrive.

keep in mind that she'll need to be checked out of her 2BR villa by 11:00am and the GV might not be ready until 4:00pm. When she leaves the 2BR, she should go to the desk and check into the GV (ready or not). She should (with a BIG smile on her face) let them know how appreciative she'll be to get into the room as quickly as possible since she is effectively "homeless" during that time.

If the GV isn't yet ready, the Bell Staff will refrigerate any perishables she'll have and will also securely store luggage until the GV is ready to occupy.

Just call MS and add her name to the GV reservation and let her do the rest while you enjoy the cruise!!

Have a great cruise!

what happens is you go from a room for 8 to a room for 12 ..

Please don't hate me for my humor..

We stayed at a two bedroom at VWL and the space is unbelievable..

These are bigger than some apartments I have had when I was young and nieve..

Have a great cruise.. Don't forget to relax it's the Disney thing to do ..

Have Fun
Dave

Yes, put your sister's name on the GV reservation also. As long as her name is on there, she can check in without you. You will want to go by the Front Desk when you get there and make sure you have the right no. of keys, etc. and who has charging privileges, etc, but she can go ahead and get settled if the GV is ready.

I have done this several times, having son check in for me and also having my Mom arrive before we flew in.

Have a grand time in your GV.

You get even more spoiled, can't stand the thought of staying in those tiny 2 bedrooms anymore, and purchase a huge add-on. At least that's what would happen to me.........
