Can anyone tell me info on the Niue at the Poly?

Has anyone stayed at this building at the Poly? I am looking for a nice building close to the Volcano pool. thanks any info would be great...amy

I stayed there in 92! The location is ideal -- it's near both pools and the Great Ceremonial house. Disadvantages: only two floors, no balcony, and no elevator. See http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/niue.html for further info.

even though the Niue building is the perfect location, we had problems with the people staying on the second floor above us. We heard every step, drawer opening and their children running and jumping into the wee hours of the nite. We were in 1710, first floor, one room away from the outside door. The proximity of this building to the volcano pool is about 2 minutes and our patio doors opened onto a grassy area which led to the path to the quiet pool. We actually spent more time at that pool because is was SO MUCH warmer. The quiet pool is about a minute away and the opposite direction is Capn Cooks. Great place to stay but the noise is not muffled. We had a horrible three days and nites when we got there. I'm thinking it was the guests upstairs, because when we stayed at the Hawaii concierge we didn't hear a peep from anyone. On the whole it's a good place if you want close to everything. Hope you have a good time!!! Except for our first three days, we did!

We stayed in Niue in December, 1999. The room was on the first floor and had a strong "musty" smell.

We love Niue its our favorite building and we are almost always lucky enough to get it. We prefer 1st floor for the patio but have stayed on the 2nd. I love the close proximity to everything esp the Pools and Captn cooks. We have stayed in Niue 5+ times and have never had a bad smell or noisey neighbors.

We stayed there in August. Although I requested a ground floor, facing the volcano pool side and got 2nd,facing the quiet pool, we loved it! (except for a plumbing problem,which was finally fixed 2 days before we checked out ) What made it so wonderful was our Housekeeper! I won't mention her name here but if you ask me in a PM I will reveal her name to you! She did wonderful things with our towels, washrags, and beanie babies! Youngest DS, age 10, at the time, loved the volcano pool and you can't beat the location to the Great Ceremonial House!

I know there are no elevators on the second floor. Is there steps to the outside? I will not half to walk to the other building to get out do you?? Niue sounds great. thanks for all of the replies... How far is the Volcano pool for this building???amy
