I think that is the name of the restaurant. Dh and I are going to WDW toward the end of July and he is really planning our meals. He has been on a diet since Christmas and has lost almost 30 pounds. He only needed to lose about 25, but he says he has lost extra so he can eat at WDW. A place called Shula's is on his list and I have never heard of this place. does anyone know anything about it or where it is???????

Thanks!!!!!

Shula's is an upscale steakhouse located in the Dolphin. I've eaten there before and it is fabulous. The menu is primarily steaks, but I think there was at least 1 fish and 1 chicken selection too. Prices for steaks are at least $30. Side and salads are extra ($5-10). In opinion, worth every penny.

The menu is printed on the side of a football which they place on a tee in the middle of the table. Someone in my party didn't know the restaurant is owned by Don Shula of the Miami Dolphins; therefore she spent the meal puzzled as to why they did that!

Sounds great and since Mike Shula is now our new coach and is only making about $900,000 we need to spread some money his way. I think that his brother David runs the family business.

Owned by Don Shula, this handsome restaurant is themed on the Miami Dolphins’ 1972 undefeated season well depicted in attractively framed black and white pictures embellishing the rich wood-paneled rooms. The dimly lit, dark hued interior is clubby and comfortable, outfitted in dark cherry wood, loads of shiny brass, cushy high-backed upholstered chairs, leather banquettes, and white linen-covered tables. What doesn’t fit its sophisticated atmosphere is the menu printed on a pigskin football and the rolling tray of raw meat explained in detail (a la Morton’s) by a member of the knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. However, the Angus beef steaks are sensational, done to perfection, and accompanied by mouthwatering sourdough bread. Sides include sharing portions of caesar salad, creamed spinach, oversized baked potatoes, great hash browns, or broccoli with hollandaise sauce. And with Frank Sinatra crooning in the background, what else could you ask for? Shula’s outstanding California wine list was given a 2002 Wine Spectator Restaurant Award. Oh, and don’t leave without lingering over a chocolate souffle or stopping in the adjoining clubby lounge, perfect for cigars and cognac.

Tip: Those traveling with small children should take advantage of the 2 hours of complimentary childcare at Camp Dolphin. Be sure and reserve ahead of time and enjoy your time alone.

Sample Menu Items
Dinner Entrees: 12 oz Filet Mignon, 24 or 48 oz. Porterhouse, 32 oz prime Rib, 22 oz. Lamb Loin Chops, 4-5 lb. Lobster Surf ‘n’ Turf, French Cut Chicken Breast, Norwegian Salmon, 10 oz. Florida Snapper

Hope this helps.

We have never been to Shula's at WDW but we were at Shula's in Baltimore MD about 2 years ago. The steak was excellent. If you decide to eat there, I think you will enjoy it.

My hubby and I go to Shula's every time we are in Disney. Menu is pricey and everything is a la carte but well worth the experience. You can actually enjoy your meal and not feel as if you are being rushed out the door. Service is top notch as well. Enjoy!!!!

I'm glad someone asked this question Dh and I would like to try Shula's this august.

My question is is this something that needs a PS? or is it a reservation with the rest. itself?

TIA

I made our PS for Shula's through Disney...you can make it 120 days out I believe. We enjoyed ourselves there----at least the food was outstanding. The service was touch and go for awhile----our 2 waiter (they serve you in teams of two) really made up for the lack of attention of the original waiter (he took our orders, brought our check....the other guy basically did everything else). The one thing we have talked about since eating at Shula's is that it was very dark, very loud and there is no view whatsoever---many of our enjoyable dining experience at Disney have been at restaurants that have a pleasant view, and Shula's is dark woods, and pictures of Don Shula and the Dolphins EVERYWHERE! But again, the food is A+++.

Shulas is one of our favorites!
it is an upscale "boys club" atmosphere, I love it!
the dark wood, candlelit tables, sophisticated atmosphere is a really special.
the service is always top notch as is the food!

you dh has made a great choice!

save room for the chocolate souffle!!! :)

Laura :)

I'll echo the sentiments of many of the others. We love Shula's. It is by far the steak on property. For me, it is the best steak i've had. The portions are HUGE!!!! Although it is ala carte it is no more pricey then YSH. Order smart. Split the sides and app and salad if you get them. Like I said, the portions are HUGE!!!

I don't know what I'm looking forward to more, going to WDW or finally trying Shula's.

I love Shula's, I got engaged there last year. Dinner is fantastic and a nice wine list. We were given dessert complimentary because of our engagement.

The service IS NOT "always top notch" but the steaks are. They (staff) have a tendency to be haughty and the atmosphere (boys' club) is totally out of place at WDW, IMO.

We've debated the Shula's quality around here often. Eeyore thinks it's the best, I prefer Ruths Chris...But pretty much everyone agrees that if you can afford to spend this kind of money on a meal (and it is a lot) then the beef wll be worth it...

You and your husband will really enjoy Shula's, my best advice is PACE YOURSELF! Might I also suggest skipping lunch before hand?;) My brother actually finished the 48oz steak....did not touch the potaoes tho he wanted to...Excellent choice to celebrate a successful diet. You may also plan to allow time for a liesurely stroll afterward...just my opinion! Bon Apetit!
