We stayed at CSR two years ago and loved it. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It's simply beautiful (romantic!) at night, with a very relaxed, quiet atmosphere. The pool is fantastic...it was hard to get my then 8 year old out of it after our mid-day breaks.

The food court (Pepper Market) is huge with quite a selection, but hey do tack on a 10% (I think...) gratuity to your bill if you eat there. It didn't bother us, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea.

The rooms were spacious enough for us, but we spent very little time there. All in all, it's a resort I would recommed to a friend with confidence.

We've really enjoyed our two visits to CSR--once in Cabanas and once in Ranchos.

IMO, Cabanas location is best, close to both the Dig Site pool and to El Centro (main building, Pepper Market), but we didn't really mind being in Ranchos--there is a bus stop at every section, and the walk from Ranchos to El Centro was very pleasant, past the Dig Site and around the lake.

The Pepper Market has lots of tasty food choices. The card punch system takes a little getting used to, but IMO better than separate lines and cashiers for each section as at other food courts. Also we didn't mind paying the 10% to get drink refills and to eat with real plates and silverware (not the plasticware in other food courts). I understand they will take off the 10% if you complain to the cashier.

Bus service was excellent on both our trips--CSR doesn't share with any other resorts.

Some folks worry about the conventioneers (CSR is the only moderate-price Disney convention hotel) hurting the atmosphere, but we didn't really notice them unless we were in El Centro, and it didn't bother us at all.

I have stayed at CS and enjoyed it. Here are a few hints though,
request a room in one of the buildings close to the main building - it is a long hike from most of the the outer buildings to the food, etc. Also request a room close to the bus stops - again it is quite a hike. We walk a lot and enjoy it, but the buildings are so spread out that it takes a lot of time (and energy) to get from place to place. It is a great place otherwise~

Try this site: steve.howland.org/coronado (sorry, I don't know how to post a link). This site has great info on CS.

As luck would have it, you can also check out www.mouseplanet.com, where one of today's (10/22) articles is a feature on CS. Nice pictures, and a reasonable commentary.

I highly recommend CSR. Dh and I stayed there last year and had a wonderful time. We were in Ranchos 6A, and it was gorgeous! The bus stop was about a 2 minute walk, and El Centro was about 8 minutes. I should point out that we were in the furthest building from El Centro, so if you can handle a little less than a ten minute walk, you'll love this resort!

Erin :D

We stayed in Cabanas 8A this past June and found the resort to be quite lovely. We were approximately a 2 minute walk from bus stop 4 and 3 minutes to the dig site as well. It took about 7 to 10 minutes to walk to the Main Bldg which wasn't a big deal since my dd is 9. She absolutely loved it there and so far is her favorite even though we've only stayed at POR before. This next trip we're supposed to go to ASMo but she still says she'll like CSR the best. I think it's the pool and slide :D

Thanks to your site, I booked two nights at CSR to add to my Sept vaca.

CSR is great. We loved it, loved it, loved it. The pool area is fantastic, the paths around the lake were wonderful, the place is just beautiful.

We were "upgraded" to a lake view room in Casitas 5. A bit of a hike to everything, but the "hike" was splendid. CMs ride around in golf carts and will give you a ride if you need it.

We didn't have time to eat at the resort, so can't comment on the quality of food (but it certainly smelled good!).

There were definitely conventioneers, but they didn't seem to frequent the pool area and were less prominent than I expected. Very few children around too.

We regretfully checked out and headed for the Dolphin for 6 days. We certainly enjoyed the location of the Dolphin, but CSR was special.
