We are going to be staying there for the first time for 10 day in the middle of January. We will have our five children under the age of 8. We decided to stay there for the ease of travel and we're looking forward to it.

*But* obviously we've never been there. So, I'm dying for some feedback about the resort itself. How is the pool? It is zero depth entry right? I'm hearing there is a place that you can watch fireworks? Where is it, and are there any restrictions on usage or do you need to make a reservation for that area?

What other fun things at the resort are there to do for little ones? What are the eateries like?

We're really looking forward to going, and now I'm just trying to nail down appropriate expectations and start making details.

You choose the right resort for you children. The Magic Kingdom is a 10 minute walk or take the monorail from the hotel platform.

Yes, the pool does have zero entry and a great water slide. You can rent boats, water-ski or parasail from the on site marina. The arcade is on the 4th floor of the hotel near the gift shops. You can have a character meal at Chef Mickey's or grab and go at the Contempo Cafe. For fine dinning try the California Grill on the 15th floor. There is also casual dining at The Wave.

The 16th floor of Bay Lake Tower has a fireworks observation deck where no reservations are required. There is a great view of the Magic Kingdom from there. Have a great time! :woohoo:

Thanks so much Robert!

Yes, I am excited. We could have stayed a few extra days longer elsewhere, but we really felt with a newborn baby that it was worth spending the extra points for convenience sake. I'm excited it sounds like we made a good choice!

Just returned from a short BLT stay with my DGrD(6). We LOVED it!! Have stayed at CR before a few times and knew we would love the location and ease of travelling to MK and EPCOT. She really enjoyed afternoons at the pool - this pool is layed out perfectly - you can always see the kids from your chair (important for a tired Oma!;)). I could see her on the slide, at the water play area and anywhere in the pool. Two of the days we were there, two CMs came to the pool area from 2:30 - 3:30 and played music and games with all the kids - they each received little prizes from a treasure box for every game/contest - win or loose. These CMs were wonderful with all the kids - my girl had so much fun - and, did I mention, I got to sit down and relax for a whole hour while she was fully entertained!:thumbsup2 When you check in they will give you a schedule of all the special programs going on around both CR and BLT (there were movie nights at CR pool, camp fires, and lots of craft and game programs going on at BLT Community Hall). Wish we had had more time to enjoy all the offerings.
We also enjoyed a few quick meals at Contempo Cafe - even split a wonderful sandwich and fruit salad from room service one afternoon= and always love the convenience of b'fast at Chef Mickey's on check out day. Hope you enjoy BLT as much as we did!
