Can anyone ride on a mardi gras parade float?

You have to have a preferred or premier annual pass. The spots are reserved from an email to the AP department and are sort of like a lottery. If there are empty spots on the night you go, those spots are filled at Guest Services for AP holders. (There aren't usually extra spots though as there are very few "no shows.")

The float people seem to have a great time throwing beads at people and enjoying the atmosphere. It looks like loads of fun.

We have done it several years in a row and it is amazing. Our son said it is his favorite thing to do at Universal during Mardi Gras.

So you don't have to purchase your AP with an American Express card to ride a float??

No, you can enter the "lottery" to ride on a float with any AP. It's done through email.

Ok....DH is more excited about the possibility of riding a float than anything else at the parks!
