We're going to be booking a boardwalk view studio, but I'm sure last time we stayed we requested a certain room number as we were told it had a good view of the fireworks etc. The room we were actually in (I think we pretty much got the room we requested if I remember rightly) was above the Big River Grille, and was a great location, other than the looooong walk to the elevator!!

Anyone have any recommendations?

I would not recommend requesting any specific room number - if someone is in that room (which is likely), you will have a 0% chance of getting what you want. I would suggest putting in a request for the features that you are interested in.
Once you get to the resort, you can always see if the room number you are interested in is empty and request it then.

We'll be booking bang on the 11 month mark I think, so hopefully we should get in there first :lmao: Wouldn't they try and put you in a room near to the one you requested if it wasn't available?

If we request to be near an elevator, where abouts would this room likely be in relation to the shops / restaurants on the boardwalk?

We had one of these 2 rooms last time:

The one's directly above BRG canopy with the block balconies, not the spindles.

Does anyone know the number of either of these rooms, we'd be happy to stay there again, even if it was miiiiiiiiiiles from an elevator, unless anyone has any other suggestions???

It doesn't matter when you book. They assign rooms only a few days before you arrive. If someone is already occupying the room you request then you won't get it.

We never request a specific room as the odds that the request will be met are just far too low.

I was in the yellow section immediately to the left of these rooms. It was #2031. There was a stairwell no more than 20 steps away, and it was a heck of a lot faster (and less confusing) than the hike to the elevator.

I always request top floor for the best view and more quiet. Out of the many times I had boardwalk view, the one I had above Big River on the second floor was the worst, 2011 (1 bedroom). Fireworks viewing was OK but the noise was bad. This year I was 2 floors above it, 4011 (1 bedroom). Fireworks view was great and the noise wasn't as bad.

Maybe...room assigners can be pretty literal, and they don't know why you want that room number - maybe you honeymooned there and a room close by won't cut it so they might as well put you far away.

Until this last trip, we've had horrible luck getting requests met at BWV - request for high floor puts us on the ground floor, request for close to the elevators down by the tennis courts. Generally, high floor far from the elevators are best for fireworks - but least convenient in terms of access (the elevators are FAR away and the stairs are LONG.) Last trip we asked for two rooms close together - and got the two rooms right above Big River in that photo. But it was also my sister's cancer recovery trip, and there was a note to that effect on the reservation - I think they may have tried harder to meet the only request we had.

Can you tell me what the room numbers are??
