my BIL has a soup thermos on his wish list for Christmas. Can anyone help? He is a great guy and I want to get a good one.

Thermoflask is a great thermos. A little pricey but will last for a long time. Dick’s carries them.

Yeti also makes great ones. As an example, we did a ton of hiking this summer in the Southwest with temps of over 100 degrees. We would fill our Yeti bottles up with ice and water in the morning and always brought an extra one or two. The ones we didn’t drink that day would sit in a hot car all day and still have ice the next morning if we forgot them.

I also use one to bring coffee to work. I will fill it up at 7am and it will still be piping hot at 1 or 2pm.

They are expensive like the thermoflasks (also great), but are worth it.

Thanks! I will also check this out.

I have a Stanley thermos that has been chugging away for the last 15 years. It keeps ice until the next morning and I’ve never had my soup get cold, even when I left it until the end of my work day. They are crazy durable too, it gets tossed around quite a bit when we go camping.

does he have a handy electrical outlet he can use? if so the crockpot lunch size model is AWESOME. dd takes her food in it to work everyday and it's piping hot. super easy to clean b/c it has a removable container (she fills the container the nite before and puts it in the fridge-pops it into the carrying/heating container to take to work to plug in). they run around $25.

We have 2 Thermos brand, metal ones. They were used almost every day of the school year from when my son started K in 1998 till my dd graduated high school in 2014. Mac and cheese mostly, but it was always still warm at lunch. They were dinged up pretty bad by graduation, but still worked perfectly. The secret to keeping things nice and warm is to put boiling water in it for a few minutes before you put the hot food in it.

I inherited the family Stanley thermos when my parents passed on. It is over 60 years old, definitely banged up here and there but is the best thermos for keeping coffee hot.

Hydroflask. Our daughter take something warm almost everyday for lunch in one. I do put hot water in it from a teapot for about 15 -20 min prior to putting her food in.

I have one of these as well. I leave the base and exterior in my cubicle and take the interior container back and forth. I’ve put mostly frozen soup in there and it’s perfect in about 2 hours.

the manufacturer needs to cut me a commission check-dd took hers to work and on the following payday the bulk of her department went running to get their own (so convenient and easy to clean).

NO,he doesn’t unfortunately but sounds cool

RTIC is a good brand. They’re much more reasonably priced, I feel, and just as good as Yeti.
