Last time we visited Florida the drive from the airport and subsequent trips to the Orlando Parks were not so much navigational exercises but tests in how many maps you can have open at one time!!

Can anyone recommend a good map book that can lighten the load????

Many thanks in anticipation.

Jim

Hi jimandemma,

Try this site - it should have everything you need:

www.orlando-maps.info

My SIL and I are driving South out of MCO for the first time soon and so I'm intending to print out the directions - photos of road signs and all - for my navigationally challenged DH and BIL!

Hi Jim  Hi Emma  !! Welcome to the DIS UK!

The Brit's Guide (which someone told me you've ordered ;) ) has good written directions on page 46 from the airport - and once you are there, the Rand McNally maps are very useful. We found these at a garage with a shop attached and I also found one of Florida, in the shop of one of the Disney resorts.

I think the easiest way to find your way is to write down your directions beforehand so whoever is passenger can reel off the directions as you go.

It might sound like too much preparation, but it beats opening up a map and trying to find out where you are mid-journey, and then trying to fold it up again!!

Which airport are you flying into and where are you staying?

Welcome to the DIS - Jim & Emma; Can't add to the advice above - just wanted to say Hi & hope you enjoy it here. Keep posting.

Hi Shirley,

Emma and myself are scheduled to fly into Orlando International with Virgin and we will be staying at the Comfort inn ,lake Buena Vista. Emma has taken to the Brits guide and has even ditched the latest Harry Potter as her bedtime reading!!.....Im not sure its that good!!

We are due to travel on the 18th and have a midday flight which means no early start at the airport......Hurray!!

Mowgli tells me you might be travelling soon....some sort of cruise??

Thanks for that map advise though...shouldnt take too long to type up..

Thanks again
Jim

PS...I hope the Fan is still working.....
