Can anyone recommend a good cordless phone?

Its time to replace our old 900mhz Sony cordless phone/answering machine. Here's what we'd like to have:

Speakerphone on base
Answering machine on base
Caller ID display on base and handset
Option to add additional handsets

Any recommendations? Anything we should avoid?

We bought a v-tech 2.4 ghz cordless with caller ID in the handset, speakerphone in base, and expandable to 4 total handsets that only require electrical connection (no extra phone jack needed). The same phone was also available with built-in answering machine.
Like this with just one handset came in the package. Many models are now available with a second unit.

The handset is about the size of a wireless phone.

We have 5 of a very basic Uniden 900MHz phones. One has Caller ID with Call Waiting the others do not. We are VERY happy with these phones - and we sure have had our share of portable phones! I recommend Uniden to everyone!

I looked at the Uniden site - www.uniden.com - and they have a phone finder based upon the features that you want.
I plugged in your requirements and came up with these 2 models:

I'll second that. We are very happy with our v-techs. Plenty of options and no problems here.

Thanks everyone. I've been looking at the Vtech stuff online. I think it might be just what we're looking for. I'll check them out at Circuit City over the weekend.
