Okay - I currently have a bunch of ressies for cars, but my lowest one is with Alamo for $363/total. This is for a midsize SUV for 11 days. I used the Walmart code and a $25 coupon. My travel dates are Oct. 16 (p/u car at 11:30AM) through Oct. 26 (drop-off car at 6PM). We really want/need at least a midsize SUV, but we would prefer a full-size. We also want to stay with a company that is onsite at the airport.

Can anyone get my rate lower???

:thanks:

i would assume you have tried using costco, bj's, sam's if you are a member. i got a better rate using the costco coupon and code then i did w/the walmart code. the alamo rate seems to be going down very slowly. each time i look it goes down a few cents- not enough for me to change my ressie, but yours might be a bit lower too.

We only have a Sam's nearby and we are not members :sad2: . I'd probably be willing to become a member if it gave us an awesome deal on a car rental though!

Don't feel bad. The rates for October are high right now, not much you can do about it. I booked a full size car at Alamo with the walmart code (430710) and the $15 coupon (D42C) and my total is $382 for 2 weeks. This is high for me, but hope it comes down, or hope National will get better. I would prefer bigger than a full size, but those prices are pretty high right now. Fortunately someone will post when they encounter a drop. We are going Oct. 14-27. I think my base rate is $156 a week before taxes, fees and discount.

did you try the Hertz rate through Southwest posted here a week or so ago? We rented a full size for 2 full weeks for around $300 with taxes.
