Can anyone in your party have "the code?"

I got different responses from CMs on this one - so I thought I'd ask you guys, the REAL pros. :-)

If someone has a code, or is eligible for a discount of some sort (AAA, military, airline employee, etc.) - do they have to be the "lead name" on the reservation? Or can the code/discount be applied as long as their name is on the reservation as part of the traveling party?

I believe they must be the lead name on the reservation. But who cares.. ANYBODY can PAY for the room.. the lead name is just the lead name.

We're doing the "paying" part - we recognize WDW doesn't care whose money it is :-) - but she's the only one who is eligible for the discount. That's why I put her as the lead name, just in case. One CM told me the reservation had to be in her name and she had to be the person checking in. Another CM told me that the reservation could be in my name but that my sister had to be there at check-in. A third CM told me it didn't matter at all whose name was on the reservation or who checked in, as long as the discount was good. And already paid. :-)

I figure I want to have all my ducks in a row - you just never know what the CM checking you in might say! Very confusing, though . . .
