I am wondering if it is possible to do an in park photo shoot for a family portrait? This is not related to a wedding. I was wondering if it was possible or if anyone could point me in the right direction. I am open to Disney and non Disney photographer. I think we may end up doing a resort photo shoot, but was hoping for something in a park.

My understanding is only disney photogs can shoot in the park like that. Though any photog can shoot at the resorts. I would be cautious about hiring the disney professional photogs as their quality isn't so consistent. You tend to get whoever is on duty that day. I personally would never use a photog w/out seeing examples of their work first.

Google "orlando photographers" and find one you like. Or go to PPA.com and search for the orlando area.

I'm really hoping for in park photos, even if I have to use their photographers. I'm going to try to call Disney again. I called before and got the run around, no one seems to know who to send me to.

Try contacting the Disney Fine Arts Photography group, that would be who can help you. I don't know the phone number for them off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone will chime in with it.:thumbsup2

From my understanding you can bring in outside photographers during park hours, but if you'd like to do the pre-park open photographs you MUST be not only a Bride, but a Disney Bride... I wish I were getting married there, but alas it is not happening. Best of luck! Please report back, just in case it is a possibility!

You can have bridal portrait session without being a DisneyBride. The only park for which you have to be a DisneyBride is MK.
All the other parks (including the Water Parks for Trash the Dress Sessions) can be booked through Disney Fine Art Photography.

Also you might find Carrie's podcast on "Disney's new policy on outside photography" (from the Disney Wedding Podcast) helpful. The podcast also covers outside photographers inside the parks.

That's good to know! A family session in Epcot might be amaaaaazing. I would love to hear of others doing it!
