Can anyone help me with logistics?

I am planning a surprise visit to see my sister next spring/summer for her birthday.
She lives in L.A. so I was hoping to spend a few days there then heading to DL for the weekend and possibly catch an Angels game.

Can you tell me how far the ride to Anehiem is from LA. Should we look into booking a seperate hotel for our weekend there or just drive back and forth?

Also, if you think I should book a hotel are there any nice ones that are convienant to both places (DL and the baseball stadium)?

It's about 30 miles to downtown LA, but LA is a big city so might be more than that if your sister lives in the San Fernando Valley, for instance. Either way, you can drive it each day. The Angels stadium shares the parking lot with the Anaheim Amtrak/Metrolink station, so that might save one days driving anyway, depending on how convenient the LA stations are for your sister.
