I have one at home (if my wife didn't throw it away). I am on the road until Thursday, but if you would like I can send it to you when I get home. We were at the Poly in Feb, and we walked around with the map and marked it with the best views, so it has some scribled notes on it. I am 85% sure it has room #'s. Have fun at The Poly!

Please email me a copy of your map. We leave on 5/3 for 10 days, and I'm interested in the layout of the Hawaii building.

Thanks.

Well possible bad news. I talked wiyh my wife last night (I am away on business), and she seems to think the map does not have #'s. I won't know forsure until I get home Thursday night.

The Hawaii building is very simple. What are you trying to find out? The lagoon view rooms are all facing the same direction. The only area that is slightly blocked by trees or bushes (not completely blocked) These rooms are from about X506-X510. I have heard that rooms X509 have a good view (put in the floor number for the “X”). There is a small cluster of trees and bushes around these rooms but the view would not be completely blocked. I would not worry that much about an exact room. As far as the garden side goes, the rooms are all about the same with the same view. The only ones that are slightly blocked on the garden side are the last rooms toward the lounge. I don’t have my map with the room numbers here at work but I believe the number is X534. It looks into the corner of the Samoa longhouse.

We are staying lagoon view concierge. I'm interested in the room #s for this view of the building. Is 3501 closer to the Volcano pool or the quiet pool??

Thanks,
Steve

3501 is the 3rd floor right next to the lounge. The lounge is on the end of the longhouse that is next to the volcano pool. The garden side room across the hall from 3501 would be 3534 facing the east pool (aka quiet pool). Both pools are about the same walking distance from the main entrance of the Hawaii longhouse. The rooms go in order on each floor starting with 3501 to 3518 or 19 (don’t have my map with me) and the numbering goes clockwise around to the garden view side.

Personally, I don't care as much for the garden rooms that have a pool view. I don't like the white pool lights to be in view. I find that there are subtle differeces in garden views, but you won't know exactly what your particular prefereces are until you see it. Have fun! The Poly is truely a great place.

Maistre Gracey,
Are you saying they changed the names of the buildings again in the last few months or did I misunderstand what you just posted?

Thanks Tikiman, just what I was looking for. One last question, is there any noise or much traffic outside of the rooms closest to the lounge (3501-3505)???

Not much noise from 3501 and none from 3502-3505. You would have problems on the 1st and second floors being next to the lounge (1501 and 2501).

As far as the name change. I just spoke with the Polynesian 2 weeks ago and they told me they officially changed the names of the marina area and some of the gift shops last year or so but not many people use them. They renamed the Catamaran Corner to Mikala Canoe Club and things like that. As far as the longhouses having their names changed, I have not been told that is true but I will look into it. Funny since our friends just came back 2 days ago and did not say the names changed. I am sure they would have told me something like that.

Steve

I can't say exactly when they changed names, other than between May 2000, and Feb of 2002 (our most recent two Poly visits). This is at least the 3rd set of names I have seen.

That is strange because we have been there July 2000 and July 2001 and 4 groups of people we know have been there in October 2001, November 2001, Jan 2002 and March 2002. I even had them take some pictures of the longhouse signs for me and they were the same. What building had a different name?

Anyone else seen this?

Steve
