Can anyone get any best rates today?

I've been checking periodically also and I get nothing, for any date, at any resort. I have also emailed them and called CRO twice. The CMs I spoke with said they have been getting phone calls but unfortunately they aren't "hooked up" to book the best rate program so they can't help us. I'm not sure I believe that, but they seemed pretty apologetic about it. Both said if they could help they would. Maybe it will be up soon, and they will still give the BR rate to those that have missed their 120 day mark b/c of the "glitch".
I could kick myself now, b/c I should have booked my January stay Wednesday when I looked it up and actually got through.

GRRRRRR :badpc:

this is starting to get ridiculous...... they should either go ahead and put out the new (regular) AP discount codes or get this "program" fixed..... I started out really liking this program, but as time goes on I'm liking it less and less, as I think alot of others will agree.... it seems that Disney is punishing their loyal patrons, instead of rewarding us

Thanks to everyone for posting their experiences.

It makes this frustrating time easier knowing I am not alone. I have been to the Passholder website about a million times and checked all different resorts for my dates (12/17-27/05) just for fun and everything was always available. But now that its getting close to my 120 days in advance, I need to book and CAN'T!!! Why oh why!!!

I email Disney yesterday and this was my response: (pathetic if you ask me!)

Dear Wendy,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

The Walt Disney World® Resort electronic service department does not respond to E-Mail by telephone
since its function is solely as an electronic service.

The new Passholder "Best Rate Program" Internet offer has been introduced for Passholders that want
to plan further in advance while using the convenience of internet booking. We still have the usual
Passholder offers available through the Disney Reservation Center.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all
correspondence.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Steven Paradis

So......what do you guys think? I sent another email with very specific questions. Hopefully, I will get a better response. If/when I will certainly share with all of you.

Bah. I agree that that's a shoddy response. It leaves me wondering if the "person" who responded really even has any clue what's going on. I'm rather dismayed by the whole thing; we just became passholders in July and I started worrying when I started seeing peoples reactions to the Best Rates program (after we had purchased the passes already), but this is just going a little too far. The unfortunate thing is that I don't think it'd be near as bad if it weren't for the 120 day limit. Plus, I did a little test with the same amount of days for the special they do have (same season as when I'll be going too, I think) and the savings didn't seem to be as good as what I would have gotten with Best Rate. (Same with AAA when I priced a few days ago.) :\

I know we'll still save money in the long run and it was worth getting the passes, but it's really starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth. I guess I'll have to look forward to the new discounts someone mentioned else-thread and hope I don't miss those rates or no deluxe for me.

PS Thanks for keeping us updated. Like you said, it's good to know I'm not alone with these problems. :)

ETA: The booking engine still didn't seem to be working as of 1am EST. Haven't bothered trying again. :p

Well I just checked the website again and still nothing....I send an email and the only response I got back was "they would look into things and get back with me"... so how shabby is that....

Hi Everyone....

Just wondering if anyone has an update? I still haven't received a response to my second email to Disney. Very frustrating!!!!

I guess our only hope (unless they quickly fix the webiste within 4 days before my 120-day advance is up!) is to wait and see if they come out with phone codes for discounts.

I can't imagine being a Passholder and having to pay RACK RATE for value season!! It burns me up!!

Ok, enough complaining. Any news out there on this topic??

~Wendy

I have yet to get a second response to my email either, and just checked and the system is still down. This is crazy. I did ask in my email that if I would be able to still get the same rate offered to other AP holders if a glitch on Disney's part is still going on at my 120 days. To have any kind of system down this long is insane!

I'm still not getting anything either. And I had found availability for a variety of resorts just last week.
Going for the 1/2 marathon as well...whoever's going, happy training!

hope they get it fixed soon. :confused3

But this Best Rate Program was supposed to make things "easier" - remember?

Hope those of you who are missing your 120-day window can somehow get it back-dated when and if the system is back in service..

I'm sooooo glad I didn't choose to make use of this program.. I'd be tearing my hair out by now!!! :badpc:

Looks like the site is back up - was just able to pull availability for February.

Good luck to all those who've been waiting... :wizard:

Hope they let those that were right down to the wire (and missed the 120-rule due to the glitch) go ahead and book anyhow.. Still amazes me that they put time limits and such on this program but can't keep the program running properly so people can use it.. :confused3

I booked as soon as I saw an alert pop up on this thread. Thanks Tinkaroo!
Nothing like last minute! Booked CSR with hopes of upgrading to AKL if and when rates come down.

Thanks to all of you for your determination!! Woohoo!!

For those of you with Holiday experience, does anyone have any great ideas on how to spend New Year's Eve at Disney?

Specifically, do any of the resorts throw a party in the lobby or bar area? Any suggestions for an inexpensive way to ring in the New Year??? Or have you been to a resort on New Years and thought it should be avoided?

Thanks again and....

Happy booking :)

~Wendy

I, too, was unable to get into the system since last Thursday. On Sunday afternoon, I called CRO and made reservations for 5 nights in January, Deluxe Concierge, BWI. Just for grins and giggles, about an hour ago, I logged into the BRP and lo-and-behold, up came my days at BWI and the price was HIGHER than the AAA rate I got on Sunday! Go figure… :confused3

Well, I was finally able to get back into the site. I booked a savanna view room at the AKL for $239 a night inc tax. Not as good as this past January's AP rate but we are in new times.

OMG, in hindsight, I just received this email from Disney. No outages? PUH-LEASE! Also, I was not trying to book more than one room or for more than two people at once.

Dear Angey,

Thank you for contacting us. Please provide us with the dates, party mix and resort that you are shopping for so we may better understand your challenge. Keep in mind that if you have a party larger than 5, you may need to shop for multiple rooms and you have to do this one room at a time.
Additionally, availability for this and all our programs is real time and can change by the hour. We have not experienced any outages for the booking engine in quite some time.

I got a response after I booked my room saying that the Best Rate Program was a "real time" system and I should try my dates again. No comment on any sort of system glitchs.
