can anyone explain VMK?

after all these years i just noticed a Virtual Magic Kingdom forum, went to it and dont understand it at all. talk of game boards, being banned for up to ten years, collecting stuff, could someone explain it to me?

I looked around VMK once, but being 40 something I felt kind of creepy there. Seems like its for younger folks than me

VMK is Virtual Magic Kingdom, a virtual online game. The game is geared towards kids between 8 - 14 but many adults play it as well. Because the game is geared toward a younger crowd, Disney has made a lot of effort to make sure it is a safe place for kids to go. Bans are a type punishment where the players are not allowed into VMK because they have broken one of the many rules VMK enforces. Some explames of what actions that can get you banned are:
Telling players how old you are
telling players what grade level you are in
telling players where you live or live near
telling players what internet conection or IM you use or your IM name
Mentioning any outside web sites (such as Disboards) where personal information can be exchanged.
swearing
stealing

Bans can last for 2 hours and up to ten years depending on the rule you break and how many times you have been banned before.

I am in the over 18yr old crowd that plays VMK. I enjoy it very much. There are games to play, fireworks at the castle, catching ghosts in haunted mansion, pirate ship battles, and taking photots on the jungle cruise. There are quests for virtual prizes. Your own rooms to decorate. Shops to buy items with virtual credits. Lots of people to chat with and make friends along the way. Even the Disney Parks give away virtual prizes. In WDW you can find a VMK shop on Main Street where you can complete quests while in the parks and on the rides for virtual prizes for your characters.
