Our family is renting points for the first time and we are currently waitlisted for BWV. How does this process work? I've read through different threads on this, but none really give the answer I'll looking for...

Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

Not sure what answer you are looking for but here's a try...

You don't say what you are waiting for at BWV or when but if you are waiting for an entire vacation the full trip - the owner of the points will can learn of the vacation coming through on the member web site before an actual confirmation letter is sent to them.

If you are already booked at one of the resorts but are trying to move to BWV then when your full waitlist is available together they will move you.

If you aren't booked elsewhere and it is a busy time of year, you might want to back up your vacation with a cash booking through Disney because wait lists do not always come through.

Good Luck

If you are on the waitlist, did you exchange any money yet? There is no guarantee that you will get your villa. Unless you have a different location and are hoping for the BWV. There could be a difference in points if you do have a reservation already.

Contact the owner that you rented from and get more details. Technically, you don't have any reservation when you are on the waitlist. We were on the waitlist once and it never came through. Luckily we had another reservation that worked out okay.

Thanks so much for the replies -

Right now we are at AKV in a standard studio for 12/15-22. However, we would really like to be at BWV in a standard studio for those dates.

I've been reading that the computer automatically will switch you over if it comes open, is that right?

Chances on getting these dates to come through are pretty slim, huh?

I'm not experienced on the points for a AKV standard studio yet, but if there is a difference in points between that and the BWV standard studio, you would have to pay more or get a refund from the owner. And then the owner might be stuck with points that he/she can't use at that late date.

If it takes more points, you would probably owe more.

If it take fewer points, the member could wind up with left over points that couldn't be used.
