I heard this from DH and I was wondering what was going on?!?

What type of issues? I was at the TTC on Sat. and it wasn't running for awhile. They are working on the different stations installing new electronic gates. What did he hear?

We were there for a week, returned on Monday. Absolutely no monorail issues to report, except that I think the recorded voice announcing the stops has been changed.....????

There is a different voice for the MK monorails. I rode them all a couple of weeks ago after someone posted they thought the announcements were gone.

Last week when we were at Magic Kingdom we went back at night to see Spectromagic and Wishes. That night the CM's were standing at the entrance of the Monorail and directing everyone to take the ferry. They were telling everyone the monorails were "running slow" :sad2: We never found out the reason but we rode the monorail after that with no problems and even got to ride with the driver on Mon (the highlight of the trip for DH!)

This was along the lines I was speaking of. DH reported that they were not running the Express monorail, therefore there were long lines for the TTC monorail and the ferry. I was wondering if anyone else had any issues like this, and if everything is fixed?

Does it have anything to do with they way they are bumping around the monorial exits/entrances and running of the monorails due to installing the new, automatic gates?
The monorail sides have been switched here and there, re-routed, etc, creating a headache.
We have not been there for around a week and a half. I weas hoping it was cleared up by now.

Hmm...good question. That sounds like the reasoning for the line issues.

Does this mean no more, "Por favor mantangenes..." (please stand clear of the doors in Spanish)...sorry my Spanish isn't the best.

No that part is still there.

I asked sometime last month why the re-routing of guests, and blocking off aisles, exits, etc. (Which were shifted around by the following weekend.)
Remember the gates as you leave the monorail? I think they were heavy green metal and swung out and slammed shut.
I was told those gates are being replaced by automatic sliding gates. Makes more sense.

LOL! I was thinking the same thing! :rotfl2: Thank god its still there!

I practiced very hard until I could say the 'Por favor mantanga.......' spiel. Thank goodness they didn't do away with it! :rotfl:

the spiels were all mixed up..that was the only problem we experienced with the monorail. We kept getting the wrong overhead...like please stand clear of the doors happened while we were in motion and then they kept turning it on and off, it was really annoying. Also on our way to the contemporary they played the Epcot speil. I was kinda disappointed since the monorail is just as important as all the other things in DisneyWorld

We were there two weeks ago and we had to do a test of the emergency braking system. They did it once and then came back on and said that they needed to do it one more time.

"Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas"
Literal translation: "Please keep yourself away from the doors"

I remember being REALLY excited when I'd completed enough high school Spanish to actually understand what they were saying there :flower:

Does anyone remember way back before the pre-recorded announcements when the driver would do it? It was great, they would crack jokes, and make comments about the weather, and give little tips.

Last week there was one night that the express monorail was not running and then the next day it was. You could see some areas blocked off where they were doing work.
