Can anyone compare Margaritaville to Cheeseburger in Paradise?

We were thinking about going to the Margaritaville restaurant at City Walk on our next trip. BUT, after a visit to a Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant, I am reconsidering. We only heard 2 Buffett songs, played by a below average band. I had a lousy "boat drink" and there was no cool Buffett merchandise!

Please tell me that Margaritaville will be different????

just my personal opinion, but I didn't like Cheeseburger in paradise compared to Margaritaville. I found the environment in Margaritaville far more exciting and they also had entertainment walking around for both the adults and the kids. I found the food to be worth the money, but found the food overpriced at Cheeseburger in Paradise. They don't always have live entertainment, but there is always a video screen with videos playing. I loved the variety of drinks and thoroughly enjoyed the great times I had there.
I wouldn't overlook Margaritaville becuase of the great experience you had at CIP. I would give it a try - you will probably be pleasantly surprised!

You will love Margaritaville. :cool1: Lots of merchandise also. Its the only place i can find the Buffett flip flops my fiance wears 9 months of the year :confused3

Is Margaritaville the place with the errupting volcano?

Thanks for the replies. Margaritaville was a status "no" and it has now gone to a status "maybe". Any thoughts on lunch vs dinner crowds? Also, will I hear Buffett music or do they have live bands?

Tammy--We go to Margaritaville everytime (often multiple times!) we are in UO and are never disappointed. There are live bands in the evening (9 or 10 PM), but before that it is all Buffett all of the time. There are folks on stilts walking around doing balloon animals for the kids (and sometimes the grown-ups) and a store full of merchandise from shot glasses to CD's to a class ring for Margaritaville or something like that. If you have a wait for table, you can spend some time in the store, or take a little stroll over to the Lonesome Palm (the airplane bar across from Margaritaville) for a boat drink or margarita and some aps. Your table ready thing-a-ma-jig will light up and vibrate at the Lonesome Palm. Be sure to go to the inside bar when you hear Volcano so you can see the indoor volcano spew forth its margaritas. Personnally, I would be disappointed if I were not to be able to make a stop in margaritaville! If you are still unsure about going, just take the time to get a drink in the Volcano bar and see if you would like to get a table. If you don't like the place, you can always head out. With City Walk so accessible to the parks and hotels, it is not like you will have to go out of your way to get to Margaritaville.

We ate at our local cbip yesterday and the food was great. The atmosphere was relaxed and they had live music. I have eaten at Margaritaville as well and must say it is more of an attraction as well as a restaurant.I think you have to look at cheeseburger in Paradise as more of a good place to eat and drink rather than an attraction.
