Can anybody who uses a Mac help me out?

I recently got a Mac, after my PC was in bad shape. I had the PC for over two years, so I had a lot of music files (1,339). I still haven't figured out how I can transfer the files from my iPod (32GB Touch) onto my computer... preferably without software. Help?

Apple has set up the ipod so that transferring directly from the pod to the computer is not possible (to prevent easy pirating of music). If you have a backup of your library from your old computer, you could do it that way, but I'm assuming you don't. Your only other choice is software. I use a free program called Senuti. Yes, you're going to have to use software. There are free programs that can easily help you out with this.

If you got your Mac at the Apple store you can bring the Mac and your old PC and they will transfer everything from your old computer that they can. We just came back from the Apple store about an hour ago with my DD's computers. They did it in 24 hrs and it cost us nothing.

I was able to transfer the songs on my iPod to my computer, using windows explorer. But I am not sure how to tell you to do it on a Mac.

Another vote for Senuti. I got my Mac over the summer after my old laptop crashed. My salesperson at the Apple store actually suggested it (unofficially) when I said I wasn't sure how I was going to port over my music library.

I have most of the CDs and could have recreated the library, but there were 2 dozen discs I lost at a wedding (long story involving a crappy DJ and upset bride) that were only on my iPod.

Senuti has a free version that will transfer up to 1500 songs, IIRC, but the program was so good that I ended up buying the full version.
