Can anybody identify this???

Not all ashtrays have the thinggies on them to lay the cigarette, especially if they are more of a decorative type. My FIL was a smoker and some of the ashtrays in my in laws house did not have them on it, he just layed his cigarette on the side. Those were actually safer for him cause he smoked non-filters and if he fell asleep they didn't burn off the end and fall on the table. My MIL's tables had tons of marks from burning ciggies on them.

Tig- I looked this silly thing up on Ebay with no luck. You're good!

I looked at completed auctions and just typed in "Disney World ashtray". Didn't want to give too much info. I first tried googling it and didn't get anywhere.

Since mine is from Disneyland it has the Mark Twain on it, aslo Sleeping Beauty's Castle, and the Monorail. I think there were a lot of decorative ashtrays back than that really weren't made to be used as ashtrays, they just called them that.

yup ash tray, the sharp coRner lines would be where the smokes rested I used to have one similr to that from the greta smokey mountains circa the 70's.

Looks like a badly designed ashtray to me. Back when I smoked and the kids were young, they were always giving me badly designed ashtrays...and then I had to use them, of course.

If it's pottery/ceramic it's an ashtray but if it's some type of metal.....it almost looks bronzey?.......then it would be just a "decorative plate". LOL

I was wondering the same thing, it looks like metal with an enamel center...which was really popular around that time. But, they did make ashtrays of metal, so it could be an ashtray. But I think it is a decorative dish. Another popular thing of that time period, I think.

It really is a cool find, it reminds me of the Polynesian Resort.

Since she's cool-beans I'll be nice to her. If she were refried beans, forget it! Or jumping-beans...I'd tell her there's medication for that. Actually, I'm pretty sure that she's garbanzo beans (AKA chick peas) and she made a mistake when she signed up with her user name.
