Can an adult use a child's MB for FP+?

Sorry if this has been discussed in one of the many threads. I did try to search this already and didn't see anything.

My question is - When you scan your MB to use FP+, what information do the castmembers see? I know they see the name of the person, but does it indicate if it's an adult or a child?

I'm not trying to cheat the system, but we are traveling with a 3 yr old who is not tall enough for many of the rides we want to Fastpass. So if I don't book a fastpass for him on that ride, he is left with an extra fastpass slot. I'm obviously not going to send him on a ride by himself, so the fastpass goes to waste unless another adult uses it. Will there be any issues with an adult using a child's MB when they scan it at the ride entrance?

** Yes, as of October 2014 ** I used my DD4 MB for Everest and my DH used hers for Space Mtn

Interested in the answer. I am hoping to use my DH's MB for a few fps since he won't ride thrill rides. I have a 7DMT on my MB and a SpaceM on his. Hoping I can just use his for the SpaceMt. I don't think it would be a problem. The fp is reserved for a certain number of people; I don't think it really matters who. It's not like we got extra fastpasses overall.

We had no problem using each others MB when 1 person wasn't tall enough or interested in ride but that was few and far between for us.

The MB scans through and CM sees name that is all.

That was my thought, too. I don't feel like it's cheating or "exploiting the system" because it's the same number of fastpasses being used by my family overall.

I do know that they see the name of the person. I read somewhere on here that if they question you about the name, you can just say "Oh, I must have grabbed my husband's band by mistake" and they will let you through.

** For us and me personally as Momma Bear / Planner for family of 5 it was just easier to get us all the same 3 FP+ reservations and if someone couldn't or didn't want to ride then 2 of us rode twice **
CMs didn't question it. Not to say they won't in the future, just logged into my 2015 res and it says FP+ selections begin at 30days, not sure if that is something they are changing for next year.
