can add one more day to a park ticket?

1. Yes. (Do it at any time after you have entered the park.)
2. Doesn't matter.

We are checking in on June 24 and are going to have a 7 day ticket. We will be looking at doing the tour on July 1 and will have used 3 or 4 park days by then.

It would only be a possible problem if you wanted to go into a park BEFORE the first day that you had FP+ pre-scheduled.

Disney looks to have not thought through the vast number different situations guests can conjure up when it comes to FP+ reservations and ticket options.
