How bad is it? DH wants to go on it and I want to go on it for him, but how terrified will I be? Are there lots of things that jump out at you, or will I be able to look at some things and then close my eyes for others?

I think this is one of the scarrier rides at Disney. I rode it once for the first time in 2003 without the kids and was scared out of my mind. I rode most of it with my eyes closed and leaning into the middle of the car. I dont like things that jump out at you, and this ride surely has that. They dont enter the vehicle, but it seems as if they could. It is very loud and bumpy also. I rode it again last November with DD15 because she wanted to try it so bad, and had the same experience. I wont let the other 2 ride it yet (10,7) because I know they will have nightmares. Im sure you will live through it, but it just isnt a favorite of mine. Twice in 2 1/2 years is plenty to last me for a while!!

I went on before it was Tamed down.....and I am a CHICKEN !!!

It is not bad at all.....

and if we are all lying....Once you find out it is bad ...it will be too late and you will have a great time...Just Kidding...it is not bad...and no drops

DD (5) and I did this with Dh. She and I had our eyes closed the whole time. I am not a big flashing light fan and this had a ton of bright flashing lights and it is REALLY bumpy. She told us at the end she never wants to ride it again.

Its not that bad!!! Enjoy! Its fun. My boys now 7 1/2 & 10 went on it for the first time at 4 & 6 and loved it!

No drops is a good thing. Is it constant things jumping at you or does it start tame and then get scary? Kind of like the Jaws ride at Universal only not on a boat?

It's not scary at all--just bumpy and jerky. I was disappointed when they made the ride tamer the second year it was open--thought the original was a little better.

I am one of the world's biggest ride wussies (wouldn't go near a roller coaster) and I fail to see what is so scary (at least for anyone over the age of 10) about Dinosaur. It's just really, really loud and the ride can be quite jerky.

I think its pretty intense.. I loved it.. I rode it back a few years ago with my older children and then me and DD8 went in September and rode it and she came out crying.. she rode Tower of Terror with no problems.. she loves coasters..

My 4 year old rode it and LOVED it. The only time she closed her eyes was at the end when the large dinosaur came down and blew fire at us. I enjoyed the ride and will definately go again.

Definately and I'm a real rider chicken (is that a word?)
Go for it! Make sure you check out your picture after the ride... always good for a chuckle!

It's an intense ride IMO. Both DH and I get "creeped out" about the dinosaurs coming at you. They are HUGE. The actual ride itself, I don't think is that bad, bumpy, but not fast or sudden drops like a roller coaster. I close my eyes ALOT on this one! So, go ahead and try it, if you do get freaked out, just close your eyes the whole time...our picture was so funny at the end, that we bought it!

my mom (she is 55) will do dinosaur, but not Test Track if the helps at all. (she will also not do Mission Space, Space Mountain, TOT, RNR, and I'm sure soon to be EE).

I'm also a chicken, but I LOVE Dinosaur! I'ts the first thing I ride at Animal Kingdom. There are no drops, and no spinning! So you know I love that! :thumbsup2

My son loved it and he is 6. So I guess not to bad of a ride (a little wild). Then again, everybody is different... Enjoy

I've rode this once. Its not the jumping out or scary thing for me but the herkie jerkie motion of the vehicle that made me keep my eyes closed and looking down. Motion vehicles tend to make me nauseas but I peek and peck but ride. Been a few years since that ride, but looking to try it again this trip. People change, bodies and minds change also and now I really know what to expect, it makes the ride less herkie jerkie and maybe more a fun ride.

I love TOT and RNRC and many other thrill rides, and I hated every moment of the Dinosaur ride.

I found this ride very LOUD! I was covering my ears most of the time. My DH and DS4 loved it. My husband loves this ride and usually rides it multiple times each trip. It was the first time for my DS4 and he enjoyed it. Not so great for me. I get motion sickness just walking around in a circle
Good luck

:Pinkbounc I rode it once and had my eyes shut most of the time. I have to say that the main thing absolutely is the jerking of the car during the ride, IF that is something that bothers you, then this is not the ride for you. That was the most bothersome part of the ride. :Pinkbounc

Here is the way I see it - there are 2 components to this ride. The actual ride mechanics and the story line. The ride itself is not scary at all. It's alot like going off roading in a jeep. It's bumpy and jerky. The story line is scary. There are very loud sounds, and lots of Dinosaurs that jump out at you. It's not my favorite ride, but I will do it.
