Can a character's handler communicate with them from afar?

I can't post pics, or I would to make it more clear, but when I look at pics taken with some character, it would seem like they got some kind of communication from someone. With Tigger, DD had her left arm around Tigger, and her right was raised up high. Tiger was posing the same way, with his arm raised up. How did he know her arm was raised like that? With another in our party, with Eeyore, her head was tilted a bit to the right. So was Eeyore! No way could the character know how they were posed. Is there a handler nearby with a headset or something to give cues to the character how to pose or move?

The characters can see, so I'm not sure I understand why they would have to be getting signals. I have never noticed character handlers with any kind of communication device.

You may not notice but they may be able to see out of parts of the costume that are not their "eyes". They maybe able to see down through their "nose" to make sure that they aren't stepping on someone.

So when the head is pointing one way it doesn't necessarily mean that the CM is looking that way. On most of these types of costumes you look out the mouth.

Ok, I can see that. I just knew there is no way they could not see what was happening next to them, out of "range" of thier "eyes". Would make it a bit safer for them as well, I suppose.

I was really looking at some of the costume heads and you can see that the "eyes" would be above anyone's forehead.
