Our 10yr old is super picky and would be happy ordering off the children's menu but because of his age we had to purchase the ADT Dining plan for him. I have read that in some cases the restaurants will let kids (over 10) order off the child's menu with their ADT credit, but some don't. Here is a list of our ADRs ..are there any that you see that most likely wont let him use his ADT dining credit to order from the kids menu?
Thanks in advance ;)

T-Rex - Dinner(OOP)
Tusker House - Bkfst(DDP)
Whispering Canyon Cafe - Dinner (DDP)
CRT - Lunch - (OOP - will they give DS a sword?)
Hoop Dee Doo - (OOP)
Mama Melrose - Fantasmic dinner pkg(DDP)
Flying Fish - dinner (DDP - considering switching to Narcoossees)
Ohana - Bkfst(DDP)
Chef Mickey - Dinner (DDP)

I cannot imagine they would care since you are paying more for your credits than your meal is worth.

Yes, but what a waste! I don't think DDP is a good deal for you, it's more of a loss. Why not just pay out-of-pocket for meals?

I know, Ive run the cost issue by Dh but he likes to prepay as much as possible, so the DDP it is ;) Honestly I when looking through the menus, Im thinking there will be something at most of the restaurants that he'll eat, if they will allow him to swap sides, remove sauces etc.. I just wanted reassurance as to if they would give him the option if needed..

I've noted the places that are either buffet or served family style, in red. At those places everyone can get the same food items. You'll have to use an Adult credit there.

As far as CRT goes, since he is 10 you should be paying the adult price for him (or 2 TS) and not paying for a kid's meal, OOP. I don't know about the sword, sorry. I don't see a kid's meal option at CRT for dinner, only lunch.

When my DD was 10 during our trip in 2009 there were a few times she wanted to order the kid's meal anyway. I found out that many of the Disney owned TS offer a Jr. sized meal. Same food as kid's meal but more of it. You can get it using an adult credit. For example, at Kona the kid's ravioli was 4 of them, the Jr. one was 12-13.

HTH.

At the a la carte TS restaurants they are very good about removing sauces or putting them in a bowl on the side, swapping sides with something that is listed as a side for another entree or from the children's menu.

At CRT they will give him a sword. If they don't just ask for one. I've seen many adults given wands.

It won't be a problem for him to order off the kids menu. I took my sister 2 years ago when she was 16, and she's a vegetarian. She ordered the kids cheese pizza and mac and cheese at a few places. It wasn't an issue at all. We were on the DDP. Honestly, I didn't care. I'd rather her order a kids meal that she is going to eat and enjoy than try and get my money's worth by making her order something off the adult menu that she may not like.

Also, I had my 15 year old brother with me and he ate WAY more than enough to make up for what she didn't eat! Haha!:rotfl2:

You could always pay OOP for his kids meals at the ala carte places and use the adult credits yourselves (maybe add a signature or two?).

When my older one was 10 and we had the DDP - and he is a picky eater - they would make him "adult" versions of the kids meals - like a big plate of spaghetti or a bigger plate of chicken nuggets and fries, etc. Or we were able to modify an adult meal to suit his taste.

Awesome! Thats what I was hoping to hear! He is a picky eater but he can definately eat more that the kids portions.. Thanks! :)
