We are planning a trip for November 2010 to WDW. Last year my two children , my DD and her Dbff were 9 years old and we were on the dining plan. This year my daughters will be 10 and her cousin will be 11. We are not doing the dining plan. My question is will any restaurants let my daughter who is 10 and a very picky eater order from the child's menu if she wishes or will they allow her to only eat from adult menu?

Yes. Our dd (11) orders off the kid's menu now and then.

Can't speak for every single restaurant, but in most cases, if it is not a buffet, all you can eat family style, fixed price/fixed menu, or a dinner show, the answer is going to be "yes."

My girls 14 & 15 still order from the children menu. They might like what's on the regular menu or maybe in the mood for chicken finger and french fries. No one has ever batted an eye. Than included Chefs de France. Just ask for a children menu when you are seated. Disney is all about service and giving the guest what the desire.

We were there 2 weeks ago and this was the first trip we did not use the dining plan because my DS turned 10 and I knew he would still want to eat off the of the kids menu. We did not have a problem at any of the restaurants (Le Cellier, Captains Grill, T-Rex, The Plaza, 50's prime time). He ordered kids meals everywhere. We tried to say away from buffets but DH wanted to go to Cape May Clam Bake so ended up spending the adult price for DS10 because it was a buffet. I know he ate a lot of mac n cheese but Disney made out on that deal :)

so are you saying if you are on the Dining Plan you cannot do this?? that will be a problem for us and my DD10...

If you pay for your DD10 as an adult, most of the Disney restaurants will let your DD order off the child's menu, but will still charge you one adult table service credit. Just double check with each server before you order that it won't be a problem. It is to Disney's advantage, since the child's meals cost a lot less than the adult meals.

exactly-since it is prepaid and Disney has our money I wouldn't think it would be a problem but I will have to double check as you say...no choice the reservation goes by birthdays and she will turn 10 prior to our trip-she likes the adult counter service options but still prefers the children's options for table service(she still is a child everywhere else but Disney;))-oh well---thank you
