Hi,
I was wondering if i should get two studio's for 9 people or a two bedroom? There will be 4 adults 4 juniors and a 3 year old. Will they allow this many people in a two bedroom at the boardwalk villa? We want to take advantage of the late park openings after hours for resort guests , so i need to know if this will be acceptable? I really cannot afford a grand villa.
thanks so much,

Both the 2 studios 4 in each and the 2 bd villa says 8 people. You might try calling member services but I don't know if they will allow it.

With a three year old they will allow it, no problem.... I'd go with the two bedroom so you get the kitchen & washer/dryer....

There's much more room for that many people in an OKW 2 bedroom. We are a family of 6 and sometimes I feel like we are too crowded in the other resorts' 2 bedrooms. Of course, the location of the BWV is wonderful if that means more to you.

Offically it is 8 in a two bedroom plus one under the age of three (in the pack and play). However Member services has been allowing 5 in a one bedroom and 9 in a 2 bedroom but will not provide a bed or linens for that extra person. So if your 3 year old, who is probably to big for the pack and play, wants to sleep with you in the king bed or you want to bring an air mattress for him/her then it should work.

Beds in the BWV 2 bedroom:
1 King
1 Queen
1 Double/Sleeper sofa
1 Queen/Sleeper sofa

Just to clarify - I believe you are not so much concerned with fitting 9 people in the unit, but with having 9 ticket-buying-aged people staying in the unit and getting EMH. Is that your concern?

Depending on when you are going and how many and which nights of the week you are staying it wouldn't be that many more points to get a GV at OKW. You would have that much more space that people would not be falling over each other. We had 8 in an OKW 2BR in September and I can't imagine doing it at BW but then we use the balcony a lot and several people are usually doing the breakfast thing at once like making coffee, pouring cereal, making toast etc so that just works bettter for us. Good luck with whatever decision you finally make.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO ! :furious:

If you have 9 then you need a GV. Read the contract you signed, it clearly spells out occupancy limits.

I love the people who see fit to break the rules to fit the needs of there family. At least you asked first.

This thread will be closed soon enough, occupancy limits are a hot topic for many.

I have to agree that you would be VERY cramped in a BWV 2 bedroom with 9 people. The bathroom situation alone would be scarry! For a few extra points, the OKW GV would be your best bet, and everyone would get a bed that way.

summer/spring

2-bedroom BW - sun-thurs
standard
32
pref
40

GV OKW sun-thurs
51

sorry but that is alot more points for me.

you can do it. but at BW it will be tight. OKW has more room

2-bedroom OKW (same as above)
30

if your party can split up - you might consider 3 studios with 3 bathrooms each room needs one person 18 or older.

bwv
standard
11*3 = 33
pref
14*3 = 42

okw
11*3 = 33

Officially the answer 'should' be no.

Realistically, if you ask MS, and tell them that one child is age 3 (not below three as specified in the rules), they most likely will book the room for everyone.

However, I totally agree with the others who have posted that you will be unpleasantly crowded, and if I may be sexist for a moment, if there are two or more ladies in the group, atleast in my family, 2 bathrooms will not be enough!

That level of people with that amount of closness often leads to the horror story posting we all enjoy on these boards. One positive effect is that they will probably never travel with you again!

Good luck on your decision, and enjoy your trip to the world!

Please don't yell! I love coming to the DVC boards with my questions because I'm a new owner. This is one of the few places you can post w/out fear of people going ballistic. If the OP had truly wanted to break the rules to fit the needs of her family, then she could have shown up with 9 people and not said anything.
Apparently too,it just might be ok for the poster to have 9 in the room. If I have a question that annoys you, please just don't answer-someone else will.

Have you tried the All Stars Family Suites? Each of them sleep 6 and you could either get two of them or one of them and a regular room at the All Stars. You'd still get EMH and other on site perks. I'll get Linda to send you the info on the Family Suites. She's the expert on them, plus has lots of photos.

:rotfl2:

Just kick the three year old out or get them their own room! The rules are the rules. Having your three old there may cause a chain of events resulting in the destruction of the entire property! As you know, these rules are there for important reasons such as fire codes and the like. It has nothing to do with profit... :) {Sarcasm} ;)

I didn't know you could yell online???? :confused3 Seriously, this stuff is all in good fun, I added the furious guy as a little point of emphasis. Do you really think I'm furious over this?

Really, I give the OP credit for asking first. Regardless of what I say, people break the rules everyday. Problem is we all pay for it in increased dues. Maybe my nudge keeps someone from breaking the rules or think twice about doing something unethical. That is the goal.

For all those in favor, Why have any occupancy limits or rules? Lets just let people do whatever they feel like. :woohoo:

OP, spend the extra points for a GV. If you don't have them, well, add on,rent, borrow, whatever. What is next, 6 in a studio????

Please explain how having one extra person in the room results in increased dues or increased expenses for the resort?

2BR (9 people)

VS.

GV (9 people)

or

9 people in any combination of two units.

would you believe the first time we stayed at OKW - we had a 1-bedroom - there were college kids in the studio and I do believe there were 6....

they stayed out until the parks and PI closes each night. believe me I heard them come in....

when I first joined DVC I was told that at no time would DVC count the number of people in your room.

So far they haven't.

the only problem would be EMH - now they might limit that to the occupancy rules. then you have to decide who is NOT going. but so far no one is complaining that DVC won't give them a ID for that event.

but I think your really problem is the bathrooms. 2 for 9 people (even 8) aren't enough (my opinion).

heck when I travel with some people - 2 bathrooms are enough for 3 people...
:rotfl: :goodvibes

I'd go with OKW. At least you get two queen beds in the second bedroom & there is enough room to store the baggage of the other four people in the master. Realistically EMH wouldn't be a problem as long as everyone except the 3 year old is banded.

THAT said I think six is the max you'd want in any other unit other than OKW or a GV. The other advantage of OKW is that you could get an additional studio along with the two bedroom or you could get 3 studios.
