Just wanted to know in case we would rather take a cab coming home from a park as opposed to taking a disney bus. (staying on property)

There are taxi vans, they hold up to at least 7 people. I would think that they would be available at the parks. Keep in mind if you want to take a cab from the MK, you will need to walk over to the CR or go over to the ticket and transportation center.

I would say no way 5 in a cab. Three in the back, one in the front. Get the taxi van. I see them all the time in the parking lots and at T&T Center.

I would also say no. If you get to the taxi stand and there isn't a van waiting, you can ask them to send one. Just note that it might take a while depending on how many other folks have requested one.

I agree with PP. A regular taxi will be a total of 4, 3 in the back one in the front. We have never had trouble asking for a van in advance at a resort. But I have no experience with this at the parks.
Good Luck

We do periodically make use of taxis to get around WDW -- between parks, from resort to another resort for meals, etc. etc. You will have no problems at all -- there are SO many taxi vans on property at any given time that, even if there isn't one in the taxi queue (and if there isn't a CM nearby -- such as at a park), just ask the driver of the first cab in the queue to call one for you and it will be there shortly. The time you wait will still be less than using bus transportation.

Indeed, just remember that if you are looking to take a cab to depart MK, you'll need to go to the Contemporary or to the TTC.

We are a family of 5--2 adults, 3 children. Taxi is too small because there are not enough seat belts. Taxi van is perfect.:thumbsup2

FWIW - As PP's mentioned, you will need a taxi van. As a family of 5, we have never had a problem getting one when we asked.
That said, there have been a number of times (at WDW, Seaworld, and Universal) where the cab drivers have tried to put us in a regular cab with 1 in the front and 4 in the back and we had to specifically say that we wanted a cab where everyone could have a seatbelt.
The first time this happened we were on our way from POR to 1900 Park Fare and we were so surprised and ended up with DH in the front, the kids buckled in back, and me in back unbuckled. As soon as we started driving, I regretted the decision and from then on we have been very specific.
