Can '08 points be transferred into my '08 UY now? I want to put a thread on the R/T board and want to ask correctly. I need 46 pts for the rest of my vacation late June/early July 08. Do I ask for June UY 08 points to be transferred and CAN they be? TIA

Yes, '08 points can be transferred from someone else's account into your account, as long as they are not banked '07 points. Banked points cannot be transferred.

You don't have to actually ask for June '08 points. (although it would help). If you want to make a reservation more than 7-months ahead, they will have to be points with the same resort as your own.

Transferred points are 'suppose' to retain their original use year month, and 'home resort', and MS has gotten better at this, but we still hear occassionally that points 'morph' to the transferree's (is that even a word??) account.

Also keep in mind that just because you are travelling in '08 doesn't necessarily mean you need '08 points for them to be current use year. Example: I have an Oct use year, I just recieved my '07 OKW points and they are current use year points until the end of Sept of '08, which is 3 months after your travel date in June of '08.
To keep it simple (if you don't want to deal with banking transfered points), you can get points from anyone who has an '07 use year of Aug or later, provided you are sure you are going to travel sometime in June or July.
