Hi all

I am going for 6 night 7 days to possibly 8 nights 9 days

my question is i have a kodak easyshare 4.0 digital camra (I love easyshares)
and 5- 512mb memory cards that should be more than enough right?

now i know digitals arent great at night (for fireworks and such)
so should i by a cheap 35mm camra ($75.00 or less) would you recomend one

or should i just buy a disposable? and what type of desposable

:wave2: I think 5 512mb cards should be enough (if you are only taking still pictures). I only had 3 cards on our last trip and that was enough.

I usually take my 35mm along with my digital camera. My digital camera does not take good pictures at night! I don't carry them both around the park every day. I use the 35mm for night shots around the hotel and carry it a few nights for the fireworks.

Are you familiar with the new photography board here on the DIS? They might be able to offer you more help.

I just take my digital. It has a night setting and it worked well.

I now own the Canon A620 digital camera and that night setting is even better.

Went camping last weekend, took pictures in complete darkness at the night setting. On the camera screen it didn't look too good but once I downloaded on my computer, they were great. Good thing I didn't delete them right away. Someone on the photo board told me they would turn out better once their on your computer and they were right.

I bought a 1600 speed film for my 35mm last year-got some reasonable photos of MNSSHP and Hallowishes. I've bought a digital now so I'm going to be getting to grips with that next time.

If you fly, remember anything over 800 speed needs to be checked through by hand, or be zapped by the x rays!

thanks i didnt know about checking the film

are the memory cards and digital camcorder going to be O.K?

I personally wouldn't take a regular 35 mm camera, although we did take a throw away camera for our DD 3yo which was great. Some cams now adays have a fireworks setting. We bought a Sony Cybershot a couple months ago and it has that setting....of course, we got it right AFTER we got home. Bummer. We got it mainly because we tired of lugging around a normal size digital camera......the Cybershot is small enough you can even put in your pocket and takes beautiful pictures. :)
