Does anyone know of any nice Campsites/RV Parks near Disneyland? They don't have to be super close or anything. Just nice. And with a pool, if possible.

Too bad Disneyland doesn't have anything like WDW's Ft. Wilderness!

Thanks! I'll check these out!

Hm, not sure what that first link is all about. And the second thread is pretty old. But thanks anyway.

The first link is the link that has the second link. It is where you may go in the future for similar information.

If you look into the thread someone updated it more recently if memory serves.

Some of these campgrounds just look like giant cement parking lots. Yuck. I'd rather something a bit farther away that is prettier since we typically don't spend every second of our vacations in the parks.

We're hoteling on our next trip but in the future we're thinking about RVing it.

The second thread still has information in it, and the first link included the second link...just goes to show that many questions have been anticipated and are in the "stickies". :)

There's also http://www.orangeland.com . The in laws stayed there in summer of '05. Seemed to like it.

The stickies are great and all but I am far too lazy to sift through pages and pages of unrelated info. I find it's just quicker to ask. And sure enough, the first two responses gave me links right to campsites.

Although, I was kind of hoping people who have used these campsites could give me information on them based on personal experiences. (And people who have stayed there in the last few months or at least within the last year would be ideal.)

ETA - That Orangeland place doesn't look too bad. Thanks!

Amy, there is a thread on camping. I gave you a link to it. It is not unrelated at all. The thread could be found right where one might expect to find it - in the sticky thread at the top that talks about lodging and other common DLR questions. I gave a link to that too.

I have never camped at DLR. Someone else did and compiled the info. To the degree that it is outdated is the degree that other people have not taken the time to update or create new threads with updated info. That is what these boards are for.

It would be wonderful if someone like yourself who is interested in camping would create some new content based on your research and experience. :thumbsup2

Glad you found some other folks who gave you good links. We are big campers ourselves but rarely stay in places like those mentioned in the link I gave. We did two summers ago when we pulled our travel trailer from Colorado to Washington DC to NYC to Boston. The place near NYC was a parking lot - but very close to Manhattan where we wanted to visit. So we stayed there. Some people visit DLR the we visited NYC way I guess - and a parking lot is fine for camping. Normally we never stay in RV parks. We prefer primitive camping spots high in the mountains. :)

I hope you have a great visit and post your experiences! :goodvibes

I guess I'm just a little confused because I DID create a new thread. This one. And THIS is the extent of the research I've done. I didn't know there was a rule that I had to read all of the stickies before asking a question. I'll be more careful next time. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Back to my original question.

What I'm really looking for is something in the Southern California region, not too far from Disneyland, that is more outdoorsy than a cement parking lot. Essentially something on par with Ft. Wilderness standards.

I was wondering if anyone here has an experiences at any Southern California places like that. Or am I going to have to go really far away to find something pretty?

Disneyland used to have their own campground it was in the general vacinity of where the Mickey and Friends parking structure currently is.
We camped there once many years ago, it was an older "parking lot" with larger trees and bushes. One nice thing, it did have a Disneyland Tram that ran from there to the DLH and then to DL

No one said you had to read any stickies. Someone - me - gave you a link to be helpful. It appeared like you said the link was "unrelated" - which confused me (and others) because the link was in fact on camping. If it was not the specific kind of information you wanted then that is OK by me. But it was related.

I am just encouraging you to bring back here any helpful and updated info you find so the next person can benefit from it. Whether you feel like you need to be more careful about anything is up to you.

Amy,

We are all just here to help... Come on' have a DISney spirit. I recently asked the same question, and no replies, so I took it upon myself to research what I could and read web views. I decided on Anaheim RV village. I do not believe you will find FW, although I haven't been to WDW.. *aahh, someday...*

It looks nice, and I am going the first week of Aug, so I can report on that, but I thought our family could save money by rv'ing it, we can east most meals there, its about 60 a night for a prem spot and ride the ART to and from the park. We are going for a week so it seemed just right. The amenities look great. We usually stay on property, or at a higher end resort, so for us the savings are too good to pass up, therefore affording me and the dear kids extra money for pins baby!!! (and other fun Disney stuff!!)

I hope you find what you are looking for.

Thanks for the links @HYDRO. I read those as well :)

DAMN dying of heat in Phoenix. I bet its cooler in DLR?? :):goodvibes
