Hello Everyone! I have been a lurker for months but this is my first post. My dad is retiring in December, and I work in an elementary school, so when school gets out in May we are taking the RV to Disney for 4 weeks! My dad and I have purchased annual passes. We booked two campsite reservations - one for one week and one for the remaining weeks. We have family members joining us for the first week, we're planning on getting them 5-day park hoppers, and we would all like to do the dining plan that week. I know we can't have the free dining plan at the campsites. But are there ANY money-saving scenarios anyone can think of based on our plans? Thanks for any assistance!

Will your plan work for the first week? I think everyone has to be on the reservation with the MYW ticket package for the dining plan. I am not sure some can have APs and others have MYW 5 day hoppers. Did you get room only reservations or a package.

Have you already purchased your annual passes or the MYW passes for your other guests??

If not, then if you really want to get dining, then book your first week as a package with 5-day tickets for everyone and dining.

THEN, at the end of the week, you and your father upgrade the 5-day passes on your card to Annual Passes.

If you HAVE already purchased the tickets, then you will need to do the meals on a pay as you go. You can also purchase a card known as Tables in Wonderland. This gives you 20% off of many table service restaurants around Disney World. (Also 20% off of alcoholic drinks at same TS restaurants.)

In addition to the TIW discount already mentioned (which I recommend), you can also buy a discounted DDP with your AP. Since you are booking the one separate week with the additional people. It would work out better. But get the cost first & then figure which way would be best for your situation.

Call the Annual Passholder line and give them your ressie # for the one week and advise them you have other non-AP guests with you, but you want to purchase a DDP for all. They will give you a discounted rate for the DDP, but the only drawback is that one of the persons that holds the AP will have to be there to purchase the meals.

For the rest of the time your are there, get the TIW card for a 20% discount.
For places like T-Rex, Rainforest, & other non-Disney restaurants, they will usually give a 10% AP only discount.

As of now, but I don't know if it is going to be a permanent thing, your AP gives a discount at most all Disney shops & stores. The discount is 10% for a standard AP and 20% for a Premium AP. That includes even food items at the Trading Posts. Make sure you bring your Driver's license or picture ID, because they will ask for it.

The TIW discount is also good at several non-table service locations, like Pizza Planet at Studios or the Flame Tree BBQ at ANimal Kingdom. Also, those resorts (like Pop Century) that have only a counter service system, they will also give 20%.

Always ask when making any purchases anywhere, if they give an AP discount. It never hurts to ask.
