Hello, We are leaving for the Fort on April 20th set to arrive on the 21st. This will be our first visit. My question is when we made the reservations we told them we have a 30' TT with a slide and awning. We are in the preferred site. Should we just let them pick a site for us, or can anyone suggest a site from experience. We have 3 kids, and will not have a golf cart.

Second, we will be traveling from Maryland/DC area, can anyone suggest a cheap, clean hotel about 4 hours out from Disney.

Thanks, any tip, suggestions would be great.

They will assign you a site number when you arrive. If, once you get there and you have trouble backing into your site, or if your slideouts or awnings just won't work. Just drive around the loop and see if there is anything else in the loop empty that might work better.

Call the front desk from the comfort station and tell them of your situation and they most likely will reassign your site.

I live in Jacksonville and will check for a hotel for you. I know of a nice, cheap campground that is directly off of I-95 (exit 1) in Kingsland Georgia. That area would be about 4 hours from WDW

Hi! and welcome to the Dis!

We are also from the MD/DC area. Frederick area. One suggestion I would have is to consider is to NOT go 95 the entire way. From Frederick, we took 70 to 81S etc. (I can give you the rest if you're interested) Mapquest will tell you that it is about 50 miles longer, but it is a much nicer route, lots less traffic, roads in better condition and you WILL make better time. The only city you have to avoid with regards to rush hour is Charlotte, NC. It took us about 7 hours to get to Charlotte, so with an early start, avoiding it is pretty easy.

Good luck and have an awesome trip!

In Kingsland, Ga at exit 3 you will find a Country Inn and Suites and a Holiday Inn Express among others. Its a great gas, food and lodging stop.

If you want to make it a little farther I can suggest Faver Dykes State Park in St. Augustine. It's a SP so it is cheaper than other campgrounds. There's only I think a Waffle House on this exit but before you get there, you have S.R. 16 (Exit 318) which is full of places like Cracker Barrel, Sonny's etc.....

I've recommended it to others and gotten a thanks from them for telling them about it.

I'm assuming you're just looking for a place for an overnight rest and if so this is a good spot. If you're still looking for something in the 4 hour range I would suggest Brunswick, GA. There are a lot of places near the interstate that are reasonable and have food.

Good luck...

Thanks for all the info.

Mouseketer mom we als live in Frederick. We plan on leaving early Friday morning, so avoiding 95 around DC would be great. I'll map quest it going that direction.

Thanks for the hotel info, I'll check into those hotels and try and make a ressie.

We cant wait, 3 more weeks and we will be there.

Thanks again.
