camping in the rain

what would you do at a campground in the rain for 3 nights? thank goodness we are in a cabin (2room cabin) I was really hoping for better weather this weekend but its not looking good

I don't know if you have kids or not, but here a few ideas.

we like Flinch, Uno, my 13 y.o. DS likes to play blackjack.

I don't know. I think I will have to figure it out soon, though. My weekend bikeathon has a one night tent camp over, this Sat. ugh! It's predicted to rain here too.

Well, when it rains when we camp, we hurry up and put up some tarps, and then continue to drink beer as if the sun were shining!! The kids hang in the arcade, and in the screenhouse and play cards, etc. If it rains really, really hard, we'll sometimes go on a day trip and go bowling, or maybe eat lunch at Pizza Hut for 2 or 3 hours.

At night, we back all the minivans up close to the fire ring, get a blaze going and hang out under the raised back doors of the minivans ( and the tarps, too). Continue to drink beer as if the stars were out.

ratsrule, I was thinking the same thing. It actually sounds quite romantic..making love in a cabin during a thunderstorm/rainshower.

We like camping in the rain, as long as it doesn't rain so much that everything is muddy and dirty. I have to admit, we do take a TV, but most campgrounds don't have cable, so we can usually only pick up a channel or two with the rabbit ears. We also take books, puzzles, card games, etc. There's always a Phase 10 deck in the popup. We usually take Trivial Pursuit when we know it's going to rain. Sometimes we take the specialty questions and I ask DH Star Wars questions and he asks me Disney questions.

We also take our dog and guinea pig camping, so it's never boring.

I have had some wonderfully lazy days camping in the rain. My DH and I went to the store and picked up munchies and spent the rest of the day in the tent watching DVD's on the laptop, napping and just being together. It was romantic

I'd be looking for another weekend to camp...but that's just me...lol

I'd find a hotel w/o room service and say I was camping .
