Camping in October

We are staying at FW in October. It will be a first for my kids. We camped there a number of times while I was growing up. Unfortunately we don't have a camper, but I'm looking forward to trying out the cabins.

Any advice on what to bring or things to see? I'm sure it's a lot different now. I really wish my kids could have experienced River Country To this day it is one of my fondest memories of Disney.

Hey there! I can't really help with the "things to bring" as I have never stayed in a cabin, but as for the "things to see", I asked my 6YO DD. Here is her response:
Campfire Singalong
Fireworks from the beach
Meadows Swimmin Hole w/the kiddie pool
Playground and dog park at loops 300/500
Activities at the Meadows area
Nightly movie after the singalong

I agree with her response and oddly the order she put them in!! Haha.
Whether you get caught up and do everything or get lazy and do nothing, you'll have a magical time. Enjoy!

Your family are going to enjoy the Fort so much ! Our family loves it and my Grandaughter told me this year after trying Animal Kingdom Lodge that she wants to always stay at the Fort! Sometimes we bring our Travel trailer down when gas doesn't eat us alive lol and other times we bring our tents down. We always rent a golf cart!!!! Special times for us have been exploring the Fort and seeing all the "Halloween Stuff" or " Christmas Stuff" together after a long day in the parks ! It gives her Mommy time to shower and relax a bit for some ME time and gives MIMI (me) special time with her princess!!! if you aren't on the dining plan I highly suggest a crockpot!!! After a long day in the parks you don't feel like cooking!!! Have a magical adventure!!!

Thanks for all the advice. We are starting our trip with the Hoop De Doo Revue the first night. That should get everybody in the right mood. We are so excited. Last time we stayed at the Contemporary for convenience. It was convenient, but not very different than any other hotel.

What a great idea!! We are on the dining plan, but I will keep that in mind for future trips!

We are bringing Garmma, Grampa, and Aunt Tara in addition to me and my two wonderful kids. Or I should say they are bringing us!
