Hi all,

My parents just bought their first camper. Sorry, I don't know the proper terms yet but its a Hitchiker II fifth wheel is about all I know. I'm hoping for a trip to Disney with them soon of course and will know more after that!

My dad is the most wonderful father in the world. I'm so happy he bought this, he has worked hard his whole life and has finally retired.

For fathers day he mentioned he'd like a chair for it and said walmart has them for under $10. This is the ONLY time he has ever mentioned anyone getting him a gift.

So, for all you camping experts out there, what accessories are most useful? I've had some financial setbacks recently so i'm hoping to stay around $50. They have just bought this 1 week ago so they do not have any extras yet.

Thank you all for any input!

When my parents retired and bought there first trailer we bought them things like lights for their awning, a sign to hang out with there name and where they are from, a small table they could use outside. I'm sure they will appreciate anything they get.

Here's a camper's chair that I highly recommend to anyone.... A terrific chair

It's available at Camping World (but may be on backorder) and is comfortable and has drink holders on each arm that will hold a can of soda (or beer) while it's in a koozee. We bought ours three years ago and they are still in great shape. With Walmart $10 chairs you will find you get what you pay for.

Another suggestion might be a Camping World gift certificate that any camper would appreciate. Believe me, your dad will be all over their website if they just bought a new trailer.

give a gift membership to the Camping World Presidents club and a gift certificate, camping world can be a dangerouse place for a new rv owner :teeth:

also the sign suggestion is a good one, i used http://www.woodsigns.com/ for ours, it came out very nice, have a geat time at the Fort

I know our Wal-mart has a nice camping section. They have those chairs he asked for. They also sell small tables to use outside with your chairs. Do they need anything for inside the camper...bedding, towels, tableware, etc...We've tried to buy another set of everything we have at home for our camper. Less packing and loading and unloading. I'm sure whatever you get him he will love since it's coming from you. :flower:

Things that they will probably want: an outdoor carpet for under the awning. It really helps keep down the dirt tracked in. A portable gas grill. We also have a camp Kitchen outdoor setup. It is a tiered table that lets you put the grill on the top and have a shelp on either side. We got ours for around $30 at BJs. We have great chairs that we got from Target. They fold into the little bags and are recliners. We love ours. They will also need a water hose. Do they have extended mirrors for the truck. I can probably think of 100's of little things that they will want to keep inside the camper, basically anything you'd use on a regular basis at home from kitchen equipment to bed linens. You should have no problem coming up with ideas.

Thank you all for the ideas! I bought him some things from the Sports Authority online but now have a great start on christmas presents for them.

Once I see the camper I'll have a much better understanding I'm sure.
