Just curious...Does Disney ever put FW on sale? I know that they sell resort rooms at discounted rates or offer free dining at select locations, but I had never heard of the campground having any of these offers.

I got a code in the mail and it gets me nothing at the campgrounds. It's very disappointing bc it certainly isn't cheap for the Premium or Preferred which I'm looking at.

I got a 15% discount last September, but that was very rare. I can't remember if it was florida resident or general. They are very few and far between!

We get codes quite frequently being Disney Visa cardholders, but I have never tried to see if they would work at FW. Usually they denote which resorts they work at, but FW is never listed.

There is no incentive for Disney to discount camp sites.

Hotel rooms have fixed costs that have to be covered so they will have discounts. Some times its just to break even or even to not lose so much money on empty rooms that still have to be cooled or heated. Empty campsites cost nothing.

The only discounts I've received were AAA which were 15% (Apr. '13 was last one for us) Disney has since broken their relationship with AAA so no more discounts! Even when they had them, there were limited sites and very hit or miss if you could score one!

Other than that, it has been 'very' rare to get any other type discount. As chartle said, there's not much incentive, as the demand is greater (most of the time) than the 'supply'!

'Hopefully' in the future, but I'm not optimistic. :(

We got a 30% off Florida resident/Passholder discount last fall on a campsite (first time I had ever seen one), I think it was for September/early October.

We managed a 20% discount on a Premium site October 2014 when we made reservations. At checkin they waved the $5 per day pet fee .... just because. Well, we thought we had won the lottery!

Recently I received an email about resort discounts, but, as typical, campgrounds are excluded. I sent an email to guest relations inquiring about the discount email and AAA discounts because I was planning to make our ressies for 3 trips to the fort for 2015. I got a phone call a few days later and the Disney rep told me AAA had severed the relationship for campground discounts with Disney. She also said she doesn't see anything coming up for pass holder, FL resident, Disney Visa or any other discounts for the Fort. No need for discounts to fill sites, when they are so fully booked a year in advance.

Not the answers I wanted to hear but I did go ahead and make December, 2015 Fort reservations for 8 days. Discount or no discount, been staying at the Fort for so many years, it is truly like home. Guess we'll cut back on the visits or the number of days to make up for the high cost.
