It seems that none of the Disney offers or discounts ever apply to the campgrounds. Is this historically true or is there hope for the Fort?
Thanks.

We have found that AAA is our best chance for a discount. Most of the others either tend to by pass the Fort, or there is such a limited amount of sites available with them that it's hard to get one.

Sometimes, there just doesn't seem to be anything available. You just have to keep checking/hoping for one right up until the reservation time! :goodvibes

Don't ever expect them for holidays!!

How far in advance are the AAA discounts usually available? We are considering the last week in September.

Thanks!

1) First, we never know HOW MANY discounts are available through AAA.
2) We only know when they are no longer available.
3) As for timing, you need to just keep calling.
4) They can be opened or pulled back at any time.

Being a cast member I've noticed that my discount only works on the cabins and not the camper/tent spots. Also whenever we have an extended discount that doesn't seem to apply there at all. Just our normal resort discount.

Thanks for posting this Zach. I am sorry that this benefit isn't available, it just proves how popular this place has gotten. I remember for years I use to get in here all the time with that discount (of course that was over 10 years ago now).

Also Travel Agents now only get one discount stay per year too and you have to be very flexible and look really hard for a campsite to use that discount on at the Fort. But, resorts stays you can take your pick from at anytime.

Personally, they could give me a free Grand Florida resort stay and I would still choose to bring my pet and stay at the Fort in my camper. So their you go...I bet their are a lot of folks that would be with me on this. Now, if Disney starting allowing small dogs at say Saratoga Springs in what use to be the Tree Houses or something, then that's another story. :)

Has anyone had luck with military discounts applying to either campsites or cabins? We are looking at a trip in the next couple years, and if the ticket deal sticks as well as the moderate room rate discount they currently have it could become a reality trip! :)

We have gotten the discounts at different times. We have gotten them as soon as we booked, or anywhere up until the last week. I just kept checking back!

Good luck!

CamperMomma, am not elgible for military discounts, but think I have seen them for the cabins, but not the campsites.

Yes, the military discounts can :) be applied to the cabins; however, not :sad1: the campsites.

I just called yesterday about military discounts. They are not offered on the campsites, but are offered for cabins and a lot of the other resorts. The only way to get prices for military is to call. They do not quote military prices online.

I certainly hope I am wrong but if you read http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3203918thread from a few months ago it seems that the AAA discounts may be a thing of the past after the new year. It really upsets me that this is one of the FEW discounts allowed at the campsites and they are discontinuing it. Another reason making it harder to get to the Fort on a yearly basis. :(

Someone posted they recently got an AAA discount. :confused3 Don't give up yet.

That was me. I was surprised to get it.

I guess it could depend on what month the contract agreement starts/ends on. My discount is for Feb 2014. I highly doubt AAA is going away. It's possible that discounts may come and go and be more at times and less at other times, but I doubt they are gone forever.

One note - when I got my discount I was asked for my AAA number. I am used to using AAA and rarely get asked except to 'show the card'. I was also instructed to have the card at check in for verification. I've booked AAA many times at other places and never get asked for the card. I will often book AAA rate as it is refundable versus the lowest rate which usually isn't.

I just got a AAA discount for our Easter week 2014 reservation. (It's only 10% but every little bit helps!) I just wanted to let you all know because of all the talk about AAA and Disney not having a contract for 2014. Good Luck.

I cannot get through to AAA because the call center is closed till Tuesday. Did you get your discount online or did you go through Disney?:confused3We will be there March 15th -23rd and have a preferred site requested.:cool1:I would be happy with any discount! Thanks for the info.

You can get the AAA discount through Disney phone reservations.:thumbsup2

FYI: I got the AAA discount today (12-29) through Disney. And the reservation is for the campsites; not cabins.

Has anyone gotten the AAA discount for the campsites in the fall or would those not be out yet?
