Has anyone stayed at any of these campsites? We're playing with the idea of camping to save money for our trip. We are going to be buying a new car this week since our old car bit the dust. :( Anyway, we're going with MIL and FIL who have a 35 foot airstream. We will also be bringing along our 4 man tent. I understand that some of these campsites have shuttles that run to disneyland but if we camp, we'll be able to afford a rental car. Just looking for a quiet, clean and safe site. Anyone like one site over the others?

I would also be interested if there is anything that is good for tent or popup camping in the anaheim area. Plus - do they have shuttles? We would love to consider camping near DL - it sure would save money. Anything like a KOA nearby?:) :) :)

Bumping this back up as we are getting close to buying a PopUp Camper so our future DL trips maybe camping style... though at the rate we've seen around 30/night for a full hook up we can almost get a priceline hotel for that.

Just bumping up a real old thread to see if anyone has any updates on any of the RV places near Disneyland. Not sure if it'll happen since we've tried planning a trip to Disneyland almost every single year for the past 11 years, but have yet to actually make it there. Anyway, we're wondering if a full hook-up RV site might be a cheaper option than staying at a hotel. Any thoughts?

Thank you! :)

It's tough to find information on camping near DL. I tried a year or so ago. I did find some reviews of campsited on different camping web pages and the ones near DL leave a bit to be desired. They mostly sounded like a concrete parking lot to park your RV. Not sure if any had tent camping.

Since I knew I wanted to be close to DL so we could leave for naps or a swim, I didn't want to stay too far from the parks. When we factored in teh cost of gasoline and the cost of the RV hookup, we decided to fly and get a hotel within walking distance of DL.

Sorry I'm not of more help.

I was at Disneyland in April, and as I was driving up and down Harbor, I did a visual scan of the campgrounds/RV parks that I saw for future reference. I did not go in, but from the outside they scared me. I hope I am wrong. I would love to go and save money that way. Anyone?

Here are some pics of the closest RV park to Disneyland in Anaheim, just in case somebody is interested.

Definitely lots of concrete, but not totally a dump either.

Disney used to have their own RV park but it was removed to make way for the Mickey and Friends garage.

I have stayed at a few of the areas RV parks over the years. All of them are mostly concrete but are clean and well maintained. There is also one near Knotts Berry Farm about 6 miles from Disneyland. From photos it appears to have many tall shade trees and looks nicer than the others. Theres also one up in Anaheim Hills about 20 miles from Disneyland that looks more like a nice campground than the concrete RV parks. I'll have to dig up links for those.

It's amazing that a 10 year old post still has some good info in it! All but one link still works (though those pictures don't work for me). Amazing.

It's too bad that Disneyland doesn't have their own version of Fort Wilderness. That is definitely one aspect that sets WDW apart from other major theme parks. The only other theme park I am aware of that offered RV spaces was CaroWinds, and they had it planned just as well as WDW, albeit not as deluxe. I am amazed that more theme parks don't at least offer some sort of RV hookup. I have tried to find RV parks near Fiesta Texas (Six Flags) and there just aren't any close by.

When we lived on the East Coast, staying on-property at WDW was only possible by dragging our RV along, but that taught us how much nicer and convenient an on-site stay was. Now that it is just the DW and I, we can afford to stay onsite at moderates. Of course we have to fly to get there now. It would take two days each way just to get to Kissimee from here!
