I want to take our parents (in wheelchairs) and our family to this on our upcoming trip. Is it easily accessible for wheelchairs? How does it work? I read on another thread you need to drive to the CG, take an internal bus and then walk. Is it close? Paved path? Can wheelchairs get close to the fire or no?

Also, a tip is to leave the sing-a-long, take the bus back to the "settlement" and go to the beach to watch Wishes. Is this do-able in a wheelchair?

Thanks.

We stayed at Ft. Wilderness with my grandson last summer and took him to the campfire. I use a power w/c. From the cabins it was a LONG hike but it's all paved. You'd be able to get to it easily from the bus area. There are paved pathways throughout Ft. Wilderness and the campfire area has seating that is on pavement as well. As to seeing Wishes from the beach, I'm not sure how close you can get other than on the walkway to the boat dock.---Kathy

We have been to Disney 30+ times with my son, both in his powerchair and his manual chair and have been to the campfire sing-a-long with both chairs. I should not be a problem at all. Actually other than the Swiss Family Tree House, I haven't found a place in Disney that wasn't wheelchair accessible.

We stay at FW a lot with my DD who uses a WC . There are lighted walkways through out the campground. The campfire sing along is actually an area that is all pebbles . Very difficult to push on also the firepits have log seating around them so it is very hard to get close with a WC. We do go many times during out stay but my DH will pull my daughters chair backwards to get her through the pebbles.
