Campaign hits bottom and digs...

The liberals have brought out the race card and then it will be scaring senior citizens about President Bush cutting social security and starving them. I'm almost sure the libs will also say that the hurricanes are caused by the President. I just started receiving soc. sec. and will be voting for Mr. Bush.

The liberals brought out the race card quite a while back, imo. Do we hear anything from any of them when those from the National chapter of the NAACP spoke so negatively about every conservative Republican black American? Or, when Bush declined to speak at the NAACP (for good reason)?

Honestly, this is the definition of disgusting. . .and we keep getting painted as racists. Pretty ironic.

Doubtful. I think if Bush loses, he'll go back to his ranch and be very happy. If Kerry loses, his whole reason for living is gone. Look at Al Gore. Admit it, he's kind of lost it a little

Oh, I totally agree with this. Yes, Kerry's political career will be over.

Someone made a joke on another thread and stated that maybe he'll become Dukakis' Teaching Assistant.

I think that Al Gore seems much happier now than before. He might make an empassioned speech or two but who cares?

Personally, I can't stand EITHER side right now. The mud is flying in both directions and it's getting old. Someone I know commented the other day that it would be nice to have someone good to vote for and I personally agree.

I think that in any important election involving only 2 people no one is going to agree 100% or even 80% or 60% with either candidate. Face it, politicians are usually very upper class and disassociated with the actual working/middle class. But, that said, I think everyone needs to go out and vote. I hear people saying that it is "their right" not to vote and send a message. I think we should really appreciate that we can vote in this country without the fear of getting blown up.
So, I tell people to get off the stick, get a piece of paper, put a line down the middle and list each candidate and what they stand for on the paper and DECIDE which one share more of your ideas/beliefs.
There are TWO people running and there's not a damn thing we can do about it, so pick one! No one cares if you're trying to send a message by NOT voting.

One has to first have a political career for it to be over.

"Bush is a rich man in the White House who is sending black men and women to be slaughtered in Iraq while Cheney and Halliburton boys get rich on oil. Don't keep getting played."

This IS so insulting to blacks folks , I would be livid if this ad was aimed at me. The words used are condescending and (IMO) imply that black folks aren't intelligent enough to make an informed decision~ "Don't keep getting played".

Robin, I'm not sure if my reply shocked you, made you laugh or if you are just waving hello. :scratchin :scratchin I guess it did all 3...:hyper:

:rotfl: You guys really crack me up....You say Kerry is whining about the attack ads against him, then this thread is practically nothing but whining about attacks against the president.

Oh, and just in case you didn't know, you might want to check out the link below. I'll just assume you didn't know about these ads, since I would never want to think you were just being hypocrites

I know you understand naunces, so let me explain it this way... Attacking is fine by me. That's the nature of political campaigns. It's the nature of the attack that's the issue. If a GOP backed "527" ran an ad in "country club" areas that included a line like "John Kerry wants to take away your money and jobs and give them to black people... Don't be fooled!" Then we'd have some irony in this thread.

Really ? So, what is so offensive about that ad ? Better yet, what is FALSE about that ad ?

And why aren't you just as indignant about the Bush ads I linked to on the last post ?

There's speculation that if the electorial vote is close again and there's a couple of closely contested states, then 2000 will look like child's play. Ironically, it'll most likely be due to some of the reforms that took place after 2000. In many states now persons not on the registration rolls will be allowed to cast a provisional ballot. After election day the decision to allow each of those votes will be made on a case by case basis. In 2000 three states were settled by less than a few thousand votes. Add to that some of the problems that have popped up with touch screen voting systems... Can you imagine the lawsuit firestorms that could erupt on Nov 3rd?

Guess the economy will be turning around for the legal sector.

Hey, at least SOMEBODY will receive some benefit from the Bush presidency :teeth:

(Sorry...couldn't resist)

While I don't consider calling Kerry "white" in the ad a totally honorable thing to do... I don't quite put it in the same order of magnitude as an attempt to stoke the coals of the "White people like to send Black people to die in their wars!" myth.
