We are at the very early stages of considering a combo vacation of camping at Fort Wilderness in our motorhome and then doing a Disney Cruise. I have read scattered rumors that you can, perhaps, leave your RV at the Fort in the "overflow parking" lot and take the DCL shuttle. Has anyone here been granted permission to do that, and if so, who did you have to talk to. We are FW veterans, but DCL newbies.

Does the fort fiends . net website not have information about this? Those people have camping at Disney down to an art form.

No, nothing solid. Just a few people who say "I heard from a guy once who said he"... kinda reports. I figured there might be a cruiser here who is also a camper, since there don't seem to be a lot of campers who also cruise!

Just know that the DCL shuttle is not free. It will cost you $35 pp each leg of your trip. So, $70 round trip per person from WDW to port and port back to WDW.

Parking a motor home at the port has a surcharge over the regular parking fees. Call to find out the surcharge.

Length of Cruise Parking Rates
3 Nights / 4 Day $60.00
4 Nights / 5 Day $75.00
5 Nights / 6 Day $90.00
6 Nights / 7 Day $105.00
7 Nights / 8 Day $120.00
8 Nights / 9 Day $135.00

You will have to figure out which way is the cheaper option for you and which would be more convenient for you.

I would not feel comfortable leaving our RV in the overflow lot for any period of time. I would move it to the cheapest (with nice reviews) RV park I could find in the area, plug in my fridge and AC and leave it there for a week and take a cab to the port. I would not want to run the fridge on propane unattended for a week and in summer, the heat would heat the rig up a lot, making the fridge work over time. Check out Carvers Cove and Jetty Park.
