Are campfire's allowed in "off the ground" fire pits? We usually carry our fire pit everywhere we go camping and use it all of the time. Are we allowed to us it at FW? If so, I need to post a date for all to join us one evening for campfire games (we'll be there the 1st week in April! :woohoo: )

Campfires are allowed in an above ground and fully enclosed firepit. However, if the fire danger is high for the area, Disney will suspend all individual campfires.

Happy Camping!

If the fire danger is high and individual fires are banned(possible, it has been very dry in the area), then you can enjoy the evening campfire show, complete with a sing-along and a Disney movie everynight.

Yea, just check when you get there, there will be signs up (or you can ask a cast member, although the signs are more reliable), that state if there is a fire ban in place.

It's been REALLY dry for us in the northern South Florida/ southern Central Florida area, so I can't imagine the Orlando area has had much rain either. In fact, most of South Florida and the Treasure Coast just went on water restrictions, that's how dry it is. I would probably think they have a fire ban in place right now, although once the thunderstorms start coming in daily (hopefully soon, we need the rain!), the bans will probably be lifted.

All the comfort stations will have postings on their message boards if a fire ban is in place, that's a good place to look.

We used our fire pit this past November at Fort Wilderness, we have a screen that goes over the top, we had no problems. We are not currently under a no fire ban as of now and as of this past week we got some much needed rain.

Woohoo, glad to hear that! We've gotten some much needed rain this week as well, but we really need a bunch more.

We also used our fire pits last November, but those months don't normally see a fire ban anyways.

Normally during the summer I know that FW is on a no fire ban, simply because of the heat, at least until it really starts raining on a consistent basis. Plus, fires and 90 degree weather outside normally don't go hand in hand...lol

Yes, as long as there's no ban in place, you can use them as long as you keep the sides and top ON! Security comes around, checking. They ask that you use the little door in the side to poke your sticks in to roast marshmallows. Also, use the little door to add wood, if you can. :upsidedow
