Camp Dolphin?

Hi I used them in June my 3 children ages 9,6,5 loved it they wanted to go back again but due to cost we did not send them again. But I took my other 3 out to dinner and then shopping in EPCOT it was a nice night out that the younger 3 could play and just be kids. But again they really loved it there and I would use them again no worries.

My daughter is now 11. She has stayed at every single kids club on WDW property at least once...some a few times. Every WDW trip we take, we have one night where DH and I go on a "date" and she stays in a kid's club. She is an only child so she really looks forward to it. She prefers Camp Dolphin over them all. We LOVE Miss Thelma who works there most nights.

If you dine at BZ or Shula's, you can get 2 hours at Camp Dolphin for FREE. We did that in May, we ate at BZ for our anniversary, knowing DD was right down the hall at Camp Dolphin, having a blast!

Thank you everyone! So glad to hear the good reviews!!:thumbsup2
We are doing the Candlelight Processional that night (Nov 26th) and when I called yesterday to book the Sandcastle kids club at BC for my 4 yr old I was alarmed that nothing was available!! Not only that, but according to the CM all the kids club on WDW property were full! :confused3
Anyway, glad to hear these nice reviews of Camp Dolphin!! Now my only issue is they don't open until 5:30pm and our CP dinner ressie is at 5:45! :scared1: It looks like the rest of my party will be starting without me.

You know...I *think* they will sometimes open early...say 5pm? You should call the Camp Dolphin directly (have the hotel connect you ) after 5:30 pm and talk to Miss Thelma and just ask her. Just say, "Do you sometimes open earlier? I was told that you sometimes do" and see what she says.

I cannot believe all the kids clubs are full! I better call and make a res for my DD for my upcoming Oct trip. We are staying at the Dolphin, and she is thrilled that she gets to go to Camp Dolphin. Believe it or not...when we stay at the Beach Club, we actually walk her over to Camp Dolphin to stay, rather than put her at Sandcastle, because she prefers it. Not that there is anything wrong w/Sandcastle Club...she just really likes Camp Dolphin!

I know I am bumping up an old thread, but since y'all have used Camp Dolphin before I'm hoping one of you will know the answer to my question.

I know DD will get two hours free with my dinner receipt, but what if she wants to stay for longer, like four hours? Is that okay? Could we do that and only pay for two of the four hours? :confused3

Thank you! Usually DD goes to Neverland Club. I never even knew about Camp Dolphin until I read about it on the DIS this past year. She really wants to give it a try. It will be just the two of us this trip, so I think I'll have dinner and then stroll over to the boardwalk for a while. :)

I understand you get 2 free hours at Camp Dolphin if you have dinner at the Swan or Dolphin. Is it just free for one child...what if you have 2 or 3 children? Would they all be free for 2 hours or only the first child? I know I could probably just call them but wanted to see if anyone had experience doing this.

What types of activities did your kids enjoy?

I think you get two free hours for one child, for each adult who orders an entree at dinner. So, if there are two adults, you could get two hours for two children. I am not positive though. I ended up just paying for DD oop, rather than having dinner.

DD did not care for Camp Dolphin. If she hadn't previously been to Neverland at the Poly, she might have had a different opinion. Compared to Neverland, Camp Dolphin is tiny. They had two small rooms. In one room they did a craft project -- painted a plastic windchime (like you'd get from Oriental Trading Co) which I thought was really cute. They got to bring that home, no extra charge.

In the other room they had a tv set up with Wii and the kids played games for a while, and then they put in a movie for them to watch. They took the kids out of the club to get dinner. DD said they were allowed to order anything they wanted off the kids menu, and one boy even got a second meal after he finished the first one. She also said that she preferred the way they bring dinner to you at Neverland, and you get to eat on the bleachers while you watch a movie. I thought she'd like getting to leave the club for dinner, but she didn't.

She said it wasn't as much fun as Neverland, and she doesn't want to go back. She's also been to Simba's Cubhouse at AKL. She liked Simba's better than Camp Dolphin, but Neverland beats them both by a mile, according to her.

Do you have to be a guest at the Dolphin as well as have a dinner reservation to get the free child care. We will be staying at a Disney resort but might well use this facility if free for us. We have one DD.

You do not need to be staying at the Dolphin. We were staying at CBR when DD went to Camp Dolphin. :goodvibes
